No need boarding another flight.. they have taken him away from Nigeria..one way ticket

If the plane is at full capacity you cannot change seats, but if it's half empty you can change seats as soon as it takes off. And in this age of terrorism an unruly passenger is a threat to the safe operation of the aircraft so I can understand why he was restrained. This might even land him on a US government no fly list and get him deported back to Nigeria with a life time ban from flying Emirates.

Nigerians and lack of understanding

Now I see why many Nigerians are not employable.

If the man sat on the plane from Nigeria to Dubai without issues, what disagreement led to him being tied should be investigated.

It has not to do with flying for the first time.

That must have been his phobia
He had no issues between Nigeria and UAE. I think the man may be an influential chief in his community who is not used to being told what to do or disobeyed. Those flight attendants are too theoretic

An advice for others!

If your family member is traveling for the first time, try and give them proper orientation
Let them know, the plane is not a molue bus that you will enter and pick any seat you like.

Tell them to look out for another Nigerian that will assist in interpreting any sign or instructions they are not familiar with

My mum, God rest her soul despite her not been educated flew many times to Europe and the US without any issue,
Because I always give her instruction up to the kind of clothes she must wear even in the plane because of Cold.
She is gone to be with the Lord now.

You haven't lost your humanity

Lol...
Thanks.

I remember one vividly well.
A couple of yrs back. Houston was shutdown (United was still, plying Naija route then). Flight was re-routed to another city and state. We weren't even allowed off the plane cos the airport was not set up for intl flights. The flight went back to Houston eventually.
This grandma was going to her daughter in ATL to babysit newly born twins. She was confused, angry and also anxious to get off the plane.
Had to get info from her from the letter the US embassy in naija sent to her for the interview to get the daughter's info and started calling to let them know what's up.
The grandma also doesn't speak pure yoruba. It was later I learnt from the daughter that it is a language spoken in the ilaje area of Ekiti state(maybe it's Ondo sef).
It can really be frustrating for them at times.

Y'all don't read.
From Dubai to Chicago, there was a misunderstanding that led to their father being restrained for more than eight-hours -- ultimately sending him to the hospital.
He was placed in the wrong seat.
It wasn't phobia or excitement

I wonderooo it's like some people don't read before commenting or they lack understanding

It's called aviophobia - fear of flying.
now that you re done typing without reading, now.... Read the post then come back and type. He had no issue flying from Nigeria to Dubai then from Dubai to Chicago, he was on the wrong seat and they moved him to another seat but in order to keep him from getting his hand luggage, they tied him down. How does that in anyway relate to being scared of flying?

Are YOU sure you read the write up in it's entirety? No one placed him in the wrong seat. He unknowingly sat in the wrong seat. His family said when the crew moved him, and wouldn't let him get his carry-on. They restrained him, leaving him zip tied for eight-hours. And why did they restrain him? Because he became unruly. You can't do shiit like that on a plane in the U.S. You'll get in serious trouble.

throughout is time in arsenal ,majority of the games he played are home games . any one that required s him going by air he would have gone with train or ship days before the kick of . most especially during Europa championship.
A vivid remeberance was France 98' he went by ship ,from Holland to France ,days before the tournament . check Google for this fact . he has phobia for height . his excuse then was that if a car has issues on the way u can get a back up or call a mechanic to get it fixed and vala u good to go ,if a ship breaks down u can also get a back up ,same applies to train . but for airplane no way .
