Whitemen told you your forefathers were unclad when they made the first contact and you believed them?
This is what happens when another person is the one telling you your history.

Yes I agree, why weren't we smart enough to have history records I still don't know where the yorubas got the idea of tribal marks from or how the African recipes were created, nothing that's why whites tell us our history because we have no history that's why you see people claiming to be Jews and others acting Arabic

King James Bible
Genesis 3:7 : And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Sahara African civilization was a big mess. could you imagine Africans were naked even up to the 18th and 19th century? what could be responsible for this lagging behind? is it the food they ate? has anyone carried out research on their environment? what could that be? is it witchcraft because i heard witches are generally against change or development as they want the Status quo.

First contact with civilizations, Africans were rag tags, they walk on barefoot, no well, no toilet, no soap, they fetch and take their bath in the river. they make hut and some of them even slept on trees.

during the trade exploration the white men came in contact with naked Africans. the sad part was that none of them actually knew they were naked.

breast and penis were all over the place. it was really a good place to trade with uncivilized people as they can easily be cheated. they gave them clothes, bed, guns, farming tools, mirror, pot, lamp, umbrella. jug, any kind of tools you can think off. and collect their resources, farm produce, seeds and rubber. it was a good place for trading. the Portuguese really help Africa civilization.

from the content it shows Africans are a thousand years behind.

Awo said this same thing in his book. Said we were 1500 years behind when the first Portuguese arrived Bonny. It's why I just shut up every time I see a Millenia simpleton comparing us to this civilizations that have had steady recorded history of over 2 thousands years before we met them.

We didn't even know how to write 300 years ago.

I think we should be proud of how far we've come really.

Africa is teething and we probably ain't gonna be world power in this generation. The identity is a lack of self esteem in its own. It's hinged on something as vain as the colour of the skin, even in this age.

When we hang our esteem on more important things like industry and maybe compassion or ruthlessness, then can we truly move ahead. Else, generation after generation would just keep falling at the feet of others same way yahoo lavish spending is bending our knee in this generation.

i think this tribal make is for identification to know ones tribe. it might help them in time of war, and i also believe that they learnt it from somewhere maybe from Hausa.

Well, I wouldn't know what you're talking about. I can trace my ancestry to as far back as 11th century, so I don't need anyone to tell me who's what.

So what were they?

These same Europeans were barbarians, killing each other on daily basis. The civility in Europe came from Rome and ancient Greece, in Rome they didn't even have soaps for bathing.

Where were the Europeans when there was a university in Mali, when the Bini Kingdom thrived?

Every continent had naked men, men who had a simple way of life devoid of conflict.

While the world was at the same level of development, the Europeans came with war and conquered peaceful places.

The Europeans especially the English went to war and annihilated most populations.

Lagging behind because they were naked? What is wrong with that? Are they better off today imposing ridiculous rules and expectations on each other in the name of being clad?
