How I Lost All My Savings With First Bank Of Nigeria by ojimma(op):

The wake of my financial agony started on 6th October, 2017 at 12.30pm when I witnessed mass withdrawal from my account. All attempt to reach FirstContact proved abortive and I quickly withdraw the remaining balance with my ATM Card.
Since then it has been a series of complain to the head office of which they promised to investigate the matter with the master card since the transaction was done in dollar. It took First Bank about 2 months to revert about N60, 000 out of N150,000.00 debited with the excuses that the remaining balance cannot be refunded because details of my card was linked to the transaction.
The following questions begged for an answer of which First Bank was shying away from responsibility:
1. Can a man authorize fraud against himself?
2. My account was subscribed to OTP services which provide me with a temporal password to authorize all online transactions initiated with my card, how come the whole security apparatus was bypassed without my knowledge.
3. Every online transaction has a reference number that can be use to trace the IP address, yet they decline to name the source of the transaction.
4. I was also dumbfounded that my complaint letter to CBN Consumer protection since 2 months has not been responded because First Bank was involved.
5. It’s obvious that there is security lacuna in First Bank internet banking but they refuse to accept responsibility as custodians of my money.
6. I beckon on well meaningful Nigerians to expose the menace in our banking system particularly First Bank LTD and also to help me to recover my money.
***Please share widely until it get to the relevant authority***** THANKS

First Bank Nigeria USED to be a reliable institution, but now it is little more that a den of thieves that will steal your money and inform you as they commit that crime, by text alert or email.

Even if you specifically reject telephone banking for your account, First Bank will STILL defy your request, and deliberately open your account to fraudsters who will use phone banking to loot your account thoroughly until it is empty.

God help you if your phone gets lost or stolen, because ANY First Bank customer that lays hands on your phone can use their own account password to transfer ALL your money away, using just your phone's text alerts sent from First Bank, as the point of entry.

The list of gaping security holes in First Bank's electronic banking protocol, is long and alarming, so your best bet, if you wish to keep your money safe, is to QUICKLY transfer ALL your money OUT of First Bank, to any of the other major banks that remain comparatively safe, at least for the time being.

You have been warned. First Bank Nigeria PLC is owned, operated and staffed by thieves and fraudsters who have one priority, which is to plunder the accounts of as many customers as is humanly possible, and then take their sweet time refunding the stolen cash to those customers who spot the thefts before it is too late.

Your not alone, I was debited 150k around 30th October without my authorization
I went to first bank for a week and still nothing was done.they claimed it was a transaction I did online sometime in 1st week of October that was debited(which was even 100k and was debited that day).
I was really mad.I need to pursue this further

You are a wise man. First Bank is owned and operated by certified criminals, at the present time, and anyone who entrusts that Mafia bank with their money will live to regret that decision.

dear op, sorry about your loss. Its not easy to lose that much funds at this time.

But that not withstanding, defaming a bank on nairaland to get back your funds won't solve the problem. I think the best way to tackle this issue is to go through the right channel.

I suppose you didn't compromise your data to fraudsters which may have led to this incident though and blaming the bank for what it has no idea of. I strongly believe that no bank in Nigeria would take a customer's money just like that. I wish you the best as you make efforts in trying to retrieve back your funds.

Have a nice day.
