Nigerian police is collaborating with the criminals. How could an arrested criminal on issue relating to murder be released on bail.

I'll never understand why citizens are not allowed to carry in this country.

It's a requirement. Then watch how crime will reduce overnight.

An educated and responsible government would embark on awareness programmes to educate fellow citizens on why you can't possibly turn body parts into money, that rituals are barbaric, primitive and infantile, publicly call out religious leaders and other pagan spiritualists who reinforce such ideas for their personal gain etc.

However, since 99.9% of Nigerians believe in the spiritual, leaders included, no one is willing to attack the root cause as it affects their beliefs -- even at the annual cost of hundreds of lives to rituals and loss of property to offerings + tithes (fundamentally the same thing).

Herein lies the major danger of active spiritualism --- the belief that the supernatural always influences the natural; hence, the need to offer intercessory incentives like property and human lives. Along with the corrosion of the important societal ideal that it's ultimately your responsibility to handle whatever comes your way a.k.a hardwork + self development + time management.

My worry is before we can get 9ja back to where it was few years ago will be tough. The decline is so rapid. Unemployment and hopelessness cause all kinds of social problems. Kids having to fend for themselves. It's dog eat dog out there if you have no money. And increasingly anything goes.

*Lagos st govt shld reopen the Port to reduce unemployment & keep the town alive.

*We need more security units. The nigerian army and Navy shld set up their base there

Crime can never be stopped. The US has reduced crime rate due to legally armed citizens.

The research data is out there if you care to be enlightened.

Do you think guns are cheap?

This is where those yeye neighbourhood security corps guys should come in. They should be the eyes and ears in the local communities and provide police with credible intelligence.

I respect your opinion but I vehemently disagree that gun ownership have reduced crime in the U.S.

Understood, but that’s why we have to fall back on data, not opinions.

I’ll submit links to data that supports my position shortly.

Hope the organization/company that complied the data were not sponsored by the NRA.

Well, I haven't seen any data and need not rely on one to make an informed decision.

I am a strong believer that gun ownership is not the solution. Tough gun laws isn't the solution either.

Check mass shootings vs homicides in Chicago, Baltimore, St. Louis , Milwaukee etc.

95% of all mass shooting "suspects" obtained their guns legally.. People aren't safe anymore, they shoot up churches, People's home, school, party, rallies like WTF.. Where is safe?

Homicides: the only for the lack of a better word "difference" btw legal and illegal gun crimes is that for the most part... The gangsters shot only their targets.. Rival gang members, drug deal gone bad etc. The vcitims so so see it coming..that's where every thug, drug dealer own a gun because that's like a tool or equipment they need to perform their job.

But legal gun owners shot up innocent people in churches, at the malls, concert, school etc.. The victims do not see it coming.

People are just fûcked up in the brain, People's mindset this days makes me wonder.... Some times when things happen.. Some will say oh devil entered inside the individual that's why they made poor decisions and did bad things. But Whats happening this days.. I think some people are so evil that the devil is even scared.. People are entering inside devil this days.

Okay then.

I won’t submit any data. Well just agree to disagree.

Have a nice day.
