So in a population of over 180 million educated and vibrant citizens it is a sickly 85 year old Buhari that is the most qualified and best option for Presidency?

I didn't like Jonathan's corrupt govt, but I dare say Jonathan showed far better understanding of governance than Buhari has shown. And Jonathan surrounded himself with technocrats who had administrative competence. Buhari doesn't know jack and he has tribalistically surrounded himselves with incompetent hands who are on the driving seat of governance.
Buhari knows he is old and incompetent, so he allows his goons to take decisions. It is these goons that Aisha Buhari called " the Cabals".

I'm not given to emotions, and I honestly wouldn't know why you feel so superior to, or what you mean by, "the north." Furthermore, I wouldn't know how you'll ever come to the conclusion Aisha would want her husband replaced by his party at this point or for the 2019 elections?

Having said that, I'm afraid you're running away from facing the real question: Who has the potential of defeating Buhari at this point in our political climate? It's not a question of whether or not we have another person out of 180 million of our people. The question is, let him/her show up or be identified and hit the ground running already! Even the now rag-tag APC took about two years as a fused party — along with the "good" fortune that the then ruling PDP had a damaging breakup — to become somewhat solid enough and come to power over an incumbent.

And here we are, (i) just one year to the next election already, (ii) the ruling party is not showing any serious signs of breaking up, and (iii) there's no viable opposition — including Mr. Obasanjo's CN — in sight, and some people are hoping for a miracle to throw forth a candidate that will defeat the APC candidate? Sorry, I honestly don't believe in such miracles.

That's the logic. Hopefully something proves it wrong for the sake of those amongst us who would consider it "poo," and who see the majority of actual voters only in themselves or their own images.
