The House of Representatives has opened a public hearing on the rift between the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun; and the suspended Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Mr. Munir Gwarzo.

The hearing is being conducted by the House Committee on Capital Market and Institutions.

It is chaired by a Peoples Democratic Party member from Kogi State, Mr. Tajudeen Yusuf.

Both Adeosun and Gwarzo have made submissions to the committee. However, the two have refused to shift grounds on their positions.

The minister insists that Gwarzo’s suspension is in order because he breached Public Rules by having interests in two private companies.

But Gwarzo told the House panel that Adeosun was after him because of her desire to protect Oando Plc, a firm he was investigating before he was asked to go on suspension.

Someone is holding back the truth. God help Nigeria.

Both parties refusing to shift grounds because they are both corrupt and trying to protect their interest.
Adeosun protecting Tinubu's interest, while Gwarzo his loyalty to the cabal.

Which truth? Gwarzo has not denied having interest in private companies but just saying he is being targeted.

Anyway, you can't be regulating a market you have share capital in. That alone is not to send him packing. Elsewhere, he would been arrested

1) If it is true that he has interest in some private companies, then the suspension should remain.
2) As regards the Oando issues set up an independent panel to investigate that and see if the minister i truly trying to cover for them

That is the Nigeria Problem.
Did Gwarzo infringe on the code and conduct of his office? If that is YES? Then the Minister was right and he should remain suspended.

The issue Gwarzo is raising about Oando is not connected to this case and has nothing to do with it.
My reason is very clear, He knew the minister was after him based on what he said, so he should not have done the wrong thing for the Minister to suspend him.

He should pursue that issue outside of this hearing probably with the President .
So we should always stick to the issues and not bring in sentiments and distractions that are not connected to the issue.

The simple question is Did Gwarzo breach Public Rules by having interests in two private companies?

If the answer is YES, he should remain suspended.
