Ganduje is more popular than Kwanwaso. Kwanwaso never wanted Ganduje to succeed him. The political elite prevailed on him, otherwise APC would lose Kano in 2015.

Stop saying what you don't know. My dad conducted the Primary election as a party member from South West. Kwankwaso instruction was that Ganduje or nobody, they probably fell apart from his assession. I wont say more than that.. You can choose to believe or discard it.

Kwankwaso didn't defeat a sitting governor in 2011. Kwankwaso was defeated by Ibrahim shekarau in 2003. Shekarau went in to be governor for 8 years till 2011.
his anointed candidate was defeated by kwankwaso but barely. Kwankwaso had like 1.4 million votes to the person's 1.2million

That's why I've always thought Kwankwaso's power in Kano politics may be overrated

Any time I remember that Shekarau election win in 2003, I always doff my hat for him.

I would always respect Mallam Shekarau (an educationist/teacher/civil servant) for defeating Kwankwaso (a seating Governor). It was no mean feat keeping Kwankwaso out of power in the state for two consecutive terms.
