My daughter who is 20 now, had been taking carbamazepin tablets on Doctor's recommendation since 5 months old, battling myoclonic seizure. She now looks frustrated about this. Please, is any cure in sight? Your help and assistance is needed.

People with seizure disorders can benefit from hyperbaric oxygen therapy (hbot).
HBOT is the breathing of 100% oxygen under increased atmospheric pressure. This is usually done in a medical hyperbaric oxygen chamber that is supervised by a medic. The procedure is simple.

Sometimes myoclonic seizures are not strong enough to cause visible movement, but the child feels a shock-like feeling in his muscles.
In some syndromes, such as juvenile myoclonic epilepsy, myoclonic seizures happen in the morning just after the child has woken up. Objects such as toothbrushes or mugs may fly out of the child’s hands. The child and his parents may assume that he is just sleepy or clumsy.

Na wa o, everybody just trying to profit and sell market on your head. Myoclonic seizures has cures, so long as the origin can be traced. Some questions:
> How often do the seizures come? Are they more frequent now than before?
> What triggers them?
> what group of muscles are affected?
> what investigations have you done for her? Let's get talking

Thanks for your contribution.
If not under medication, if comes intermittently. She often twists her arms, legs and her face. She jerks aggressively.
What triggers it is unknown.
I hope this information would be useful.
She is about 20 now?

She should visit a neurologist. She needs to have an EEG , preferable a Video EEG to trace the origin of the abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Knowing the origin is half way to the cure.
Usually, when a patient on meds is seizure free for two years, a cure is said to have been achieved and the drugs are gradually tailed off. However you mentioned that she frequently has seizures when she isn't on meds. Two things:
Encourage her to take her meds regularly, and at about the same time daily.
Perhaps, she is receiving a low dose, you may need to see the neurologist so he can order for a serum drug level. If its low, the dose could be increased. If its not low, then the drug may have to be changed.
We can only hope that she doesn't have a structural brain problem.

This problem was seen in 2015 under a different monica, and has appeared in 2018.
When we give advice on hbot people think we are talking rubbish, others say we want to profit. They exibit serious lack of knowledge.
When one is doing same thing same way for 20years without progress (na di same result ee go get) It is time for change.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (hbot) has worked for many people abroad, There is no reason why it will not work for Nigerians.

Current drugs are meant to suppress seizures and not to heal it. Hyperbaric oxygen heals the brain. It has not been suggested in Naija because there is no knowledge about it. If all of us have the time we can book for a free trial to see for yourself. This free trial will expire in 2weeks.

HBOT Providers.

HBOT does what it claims to do. It is is usually administered by qualified physicians who have the knowledge. Only lazy folks criticise because they don't have the mental capacity to read and comprehend. We only write when we know that including hbot will give better results.
