Till now they are still rationing electricity in most parts of Benin city. Some ppl are saying its the Chinese companies here that they prefer giving light to but don't know if dat is true. Benin dey fear light. Everytime in the evenings na so generator noise everywhere. |

Desyner:should he abandon the project ? Or he should be irresponsible like past governments and - abandon old projects and issue new contracts for his own cronies ! Do you know how many abandoned white elephant projects in Nigeria from wasteful governments for the sole reason of embezzling funds ! Buhari is now completing old projects and people like you are still complaining ! Some people just act talk anyhow ! 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Pataricatering:This is true, he should complete Old projects, but at same time he should initiate his own as well, especially in the power sector.5K MW is nowhere near our Energy requirements.he needs to at least add 2K MW to the grid b4 the end of his 1st 4 yrs, GEJ did this in the part of i nstalled capacity. |

But Azura has nothing to do with government, so why try to attribute its construction to the government?? It’s a private company with everything about it totally private... |

Now I understand the why Nigeria is like this. Zombies want to jump at any chance to sing praises for their man even when he has proved repeatedly to be clueless. Azura project began 2014 and is expected to come online this year. Wetin concern Buhari and Fashola inside this one? The construction costs for the power station are budgeted at US$900 million, via loans provided by a consortium of twenty international banks and equity finance institutions drawn from nine different countries. The power station is expected to come online in 2018. 1 Like |

Desyner: This is quite misleading, as construction on this project began in 2016. It’s also not a “Fashola Project” Azura Power West Africa is a private investment company also building a power plant in Ghana. 3 Likes 1 Share |
Re: Fashola Inspects 450 MW Azura Independent Power Plant In Benin (Photos) by ambyzown(m): 11:02pm On Feb 03, 2018 |
wellmax: He is actually correct. The plant is made up of 3 turbines each capable of producing 152MW which totals 456MW. One of the turbines was live in December, and the second is set to be test run and hooked up to the national grid this month. The funny thing is that just next door is the 400MW NIPP facility with 4 turbines each capable of producing 100MW, but only one turbine has been running at b/w 60-94MW. The other 3 are functional but for some reasons are always shut down. Occasionally 2 of the turbines come on stream simultaneously but then it’s only for a short while. If both of these plants can work at full capacity, that will account for almost 1000MW of power from Edo state alone. 5 Likes |

many of you are just clueless. It is an independent power project for God sake, it is privately owned and funded. It's not a government project. |

Something that won't last is not impressive. We never ever do a complete or thorough job; only mediocre effort and results. I don't know the specs of this plant but even the environment it is commissioned on will accelerate the inevitable damage to this plant, just look at the dust around that can corrode the pipes, interfere with valve operations, and is a hazardous working environment. 450 mw for a country that needs up to 100,000 mw to be among serious developing nations is a joke. A country filled with dunce mentality is a purely foolish and laughable country. Go figure! |
