ABIA STATE is a dead state, there is no amount of propaganda and lying that can save you. Go home and push your people to develop your state. This video below tells the whole truth without bias.

For the umpteenth time, stop derailing this thread. Why does abia give you nightmare? This thread is not about abia. It is about alaigbo as a whole.

Useless Aba pig. You want me to go elsewhere..why did put Anambra in your useless write-up? Why not remove it and see if I care about you pig and your write-up. Useless envious people that think we don't know what they are up to

There is nothing moving forward in Abia state. Abia state is a cursed dead state. You better start facing this reality on time. cheesy

I know you want to derail this thread. I really don't know your age or experience (not that I care though), but I know ndigbo will never move forward with people like you. If you hate abia state that much then quit talking about abia state. If it hurts you that other Igbo (in this your case, abians) are moving forward, then that's your problem. Quit derailing this thread. Take your "anambra complex" elsewhere.

I am more concerned with Abia state because it is your state. Learn to love your state first before you love another state. As an Abia indigene what should dominate your mind is how Abia can catch up with other SE states.

Look at this, the only state in the SE that is owing salaries. This is another reason you should focus on your dead state for once.

Anambra and it's cities of Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi are doing perfectly well ahead of other SE states in all indices of infrastructure and development. Instead of you to focus more on your filthy, dilapidated and most backward Abia state but you are busy thinking about the East.

Academically, Abia state is moving up. We have topped secondary education 3 TIMES in a row. We have a Federal Univ of Agriculture, State University, UNN Aba Campus and a state polytechnic and a private owned university.

Commercially, we are still the MSME Capital of Nigeria. Our Made-in-Aba still trends.

Infrastructurally, we are hoping the leaders put things in place. I know we shall get there one day.

We don't DISCRIMINATE others just like you lots. IMO, EBONYI, ENUGU and of course are our brothers.

Pls stop derailing this thread. Or else you will later know why I was banned for about a year.

The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), on Thursday threatened to embark on strike if defaulting state governors failed to clear salary arrears of its members.

The national president of the union, Michael Olukoya, said this in Abuja on Thursday, at the solemn assembly organised by the union.

Mr. Olukoya listed the states owing salary arrears to include Abia, Bayelsa, Benue, Ekiti, Kwara, Ondo, Taraba, Delta, Kaduna, Osun, Nasarawa, Oyo and Kogi.

“The leadership of the NUT wishes to again express our displeasure over continued nonpayment of salaries and allowances of primary and secondary school teachers in several states across the country.

“In spite of our earlier call on all defaulting states to pay up the backlogs of salaries and allowances owed teachers to galvanise effective academic activities in our schools.

“We shall embark on strike on two things and on two occasions, one is on non-payment of salaries and two is the decay in the laboratories in schools.

“Abia owes five months for primary and seven months for secondary, Bayelsa owes seven and half months for primary and three months for secondary schools.

“Benue primary schools 12 months, Ekiti: primary nine months, secondary five months, Kwara: primary two months, Ondo: primary four months, Taraba: primary six months and Kogi: primary owed 25 months.

“Delta primary owes two months, Kaduna: primary and secondary five months, Osun: primary and secondary owed 28 months (half salaries).

What I am saying is very simple. Be more focused on your dead Abia state. Everyday you will open thread but instead discussing the rot and mess in Abia state, you will find a way to drag others into it. Be focused on your Abia state and leave Anambra out of your useless posts because we are doing very well in all indices of development ahead of the pack and do not need your useless validation or whatever.

Read this:

Team Anambra yesterday emerged winners of the Inter Basic Debate Competition, beating contestants from the other 35 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.

The Debating Competition, held in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, was organised as part of the activities marking Nigeria’s 55th Independence Anniversary.

The great performance of Team Anambra came on the heels of the emergence, on Monday this week, of Mrs Rose Nkemdilim Obi, a teacher at Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha, as the Best Teacher in Nigeria in the keenly contested Multina Teacher of the Year Awards organised by Nigerian Breweries Plc in association with the Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund.

Mrs Obi, who teaches Mathematics, was adjudged the nation’s Best Teacher, after edging out contestants from 19 states of the federation who had emerged as champions of their various states.

“The emergence of Team Anambra as winners of the Debating Competition and Mrs Obi’s emergence as the Best Teacher in Nigeria indicate a direct relationship between the quality of teachers in Anambra State and the bright students that are produced by the various schools in the state,” a Government House statement said.

“The most fascinating thing about the emerging culture of educational excellence in Anambra State is that the high performing students and the award-winning teacher are all from public schools,” said the statement signed by James Eze, Spokesman of Governor Willie Obiano.

“Similarly, the Team Anambra that defeated the contingents of other states to emerge champions of the Schools Debate last year were all drawn from public schools across the state,” Eze said in the statement issued this morning.

“The team,” according to him, “was made up of Adachukwu Onyekwena from Girls Secondary School, Amaenyi, Awka, Nnamdi Udoji from Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha, Chinemerem Oguaba from Awada Secondary School, Obosi, Chukwuebuka Obichi from Army Day Secondary School, Onitsha and Nneka Chigozie from Mater Ammabillis Secondary School, Umoji; all public schools located in different parts of the state.

“The emergence another Team Anambra as winners of this year’s Schools Debate is simply a repeat of the feat achieved by their compatriots who had gone further from that performance to represent Nigeria at the World Schools Debate Championship in Singapore in June this year.

“The recent string of excellent performances by students from different schools in Anambra State are a clear validation of the outstanding feat the state has achieved in education with its candidates coming tops in WAEC and NECO examinations in three successive years.”

Has Abia state gone anywhere outside Nigeria to represent Nigeria before?

Jubilation is the word in the Executive chambers of the Government house today when the Anambra Debate Team that participated in the Junior School Mock Debate in Singapore last week as part of the build up to the World School Debate Championship billed for Germany in July this year has returned with the trophy it won after defeating the Debate Team of Katong Convent School, Singapore.
The Debate Team is made up of five students drawn from different public secondary schools across the state including Ugochukwu Chineke, a fourteen-year-old student Army Day Secondary School, Onitsha, Oluchukwu Godfrey, an eleven-year-old pupil of Modebe Memorial Primary School, Onitsha, Favour Mmesoma Nwankwo, an eleven-year-old student of capital City Secondary School, Awka, Endurance Peter, a thirteen-year-old student of Comprehensive Secondary School, Nawfia and Chinecherem Precious Oli, a fourteen-year-old student of Metu Memorial Secondary School, Onitsha
.

The Debate Team stormed the chambers of the Anambra State Executive Council with the trophy and was roundly applauded by the Council Members for flying the flag of the state high and doing Nigeria proud at the Mock Debate.
Receiving the trophy, the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano praised the team for putting up a sterling performance in Singapore and doing the state proud.
Governor Obiano expressed happiness that the huge investments that the state had made in education had started yielding heart-warming results and assured that his administration had singled out education as a top priority because of its overall importance to human capital development.
Noting that Anambra approaches education in three broad categories including Teachers Welfare, Infrastructural Development and Pupils/Students Development, Governor Obiano observed that gradually the state was inching closer to realising its objective of becoming one of the Top-3 states with the highest literacy rates in the country.
He commended the triumphant Debate Team and assured that the state would write a Special Commendation Letter for each of the debater that would serve as a memento.
He also commended teachers in the state for responding massively to the efforts of his administration to reposition education in the state pointing out that Anambra teachers had swiftly risen to the demands of the times.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Education, Professor Kate Omenugha revealed that Anambra, Kaduna and Niger States were originally billed to participate in the Mock Debate in Singapore in preparation for the World Championship in July but only Anambra and Niger State eventually made the trip.
Thanking Governor Obiano for assuming the role of the Pillar of Education in the state, Professor Omenugha observed that under him, Anambra had become an exemplary state in education in the country.
According to her, the essence of the Mock Debate in Singapore was to expose the children to global best practices in debating and prepare them for the World Championship coming up in Germany in July this year.
Professor Omenugha further observed that the Singapore trip provided a veritable learning platform for the children who sat under the tutelage of world class debate coaches and imbibed some crucial skills that would aid their performance at the World Championship.
Sharing their experience on the trip, Master Ugochukwu Chukwuneke from Army day Secondary School Onitsha who won the Best Speaker at the Mock Debate and Oluchukwu Godfrey from Modebe Memorial Primary School who also put up a sterling performance revealed that the tour had opened their eyes to a higher standard in debating.
They thanked Governor Obiano for providing them the opportunity to improve on their persuasive speaking skills and assured the state that they would not let Nigeria down in the World Championship .
