Some of these statistics are from reliable and standard international world fact research resources.

Indian economy is growing very fast and the people are rapidly leaving extreme poverty. Their literacy rate is also now far higher than ours.

India has more poor people, no doubt. But Nigeria can very much have more extremely poor people.

I think you might also be making a similar mistake as 12Submarine. India has more poor people than Nigeria, make no mistake, but Nigeria has more extremely poor people.

In all poverty index rankings, there is usually a difference btw the poor and extremely poor category.

my analysis is simple. Minimum wage is #18000 and world extreme poverty line is #680 daily. This means if you are jobless or earning less than #20000 monthly you are extremely poor. Infact if you are earning #50000 with 4 children and or other dependent you are still extremely poor. So 45% is way too low. Got to be 80%

Do you realise that Nigerians go to India for medical tourism? Most imported drugs today are from India.

Moreover, this about 'extreme poverty'. 82 million Indians cannot afford 680 Naira a day. It is not small even though it is 6% of India's over 1.3 Billion population.

India has FAR more people in extreme poverty than any country on planet earth.

Let me school you, though I doubt very much you'll learn anything. Extreme poverty is not the same thing as inextreme poverty. Even if all the combined populations of extremely poor people in the countries you mentioned are put together, they don't add up to the figure of 85 million quoted for Nigeria.
