The 200 level students of English department, Osun State University has today gone on a short protest to express their displeasure on the viral video. They held cardboards indicating and explaining that it was just a theatre.

While Blog was speaking with one of the students; Amodu Aramide, she narrated that it was theatre, he did nothing wrong and was fun.

On the cardboards, they plead that Dr Sesan should be pardoned for any misconception.

More details later as students have gone outside the school to further express themselves.

I would not contend that the students were flogged if they claim they were not. However, if they were, what is at play is what Fela has summed up in his song: Suffering and smiling. Ours is a country where people have normalized anomalies and celebrate what should be rebuked.

We are the people who find joy in having power for 2 hours when other climes have it 24 hours without batting an eyelid. We celebrate political office holders who provide good roads as if the fund was from their pockets. The level people in other climes with more humane and mentally stable leaders can never imagine enduring is a level too high for our dear nation to reach.

Feeding, security, education, employment and other benefits that make life worthwhile and should be regarded as birth rights are earned through a race against odds.

We were the giant of Africa, not anymore.
Gone were the days poverty was fought, now policies of government fight the poor. It is night again, and we have the oppressed red-carpeting the oppressor. Will it be strange if these young men and women grow to be weaklings who cannot stand firm for justice? Is it now strange that even when the ship of our nation is plunged in the deep sea of mess, some people still echo "Sai Baba" with reckless abandon and disregard for what may become of us all? When exactly will morning come?

Students, your protest is noted.

God I appreciate the fact dt u put me in Nigeria for a reason. Bt pls help me find my reason for been here. Because everyday, I find two more reasons not to be in this place called Nigeria. A place where humans behave like animals and animals behave like humans.
