Read please read. His surname is Ibe.

So? Some of you are simply ignorant or just plain bigoted demons. You think it is possible for anybody to hide his/her ethnic identity in a Federal organisation by just dropping surname? You can hardly fill out any form in a federal agency without stating your state and local government of origin. Recruitment, promotion etc are all based on state quota so, it is not something that can be hidden. General Nicholas Rogers is the only person that knows why he choose to drop Ibe from his name. It is not something someone who doesn't know him can assume on Nairaland. People change names or drop one or two of their names for so many reasons. You guys should stop reading silly meanings into everything.

But if that child was raised from day 1 by Caucasian parents and was not told about his African ancestry, or interact much with blacks, that child will be as British as a white kid.

it happens a lot in Italia

Foster parents training the blacks from day 1 not to be black

you get my point

Scientifically speaking, there are potentials inherent in an organism as a result of genes (DNA). These traits can be influenced by the environment. However, the environment itself doesn't confer a trait in an organism automatically.

Natural Evolution takes millions of years.

In genetics, we talk of domestication which people don't really understand. Briefly, it has to do with transforming a wild organism into an almost entirely new organism that can adapt at home. This takes millions of years as the new environment has to gradually interact with the gene thereby modifying it.

It must interest you to know that the organism can never lose its entire genome.

This is why DNA test is still applied to indentify the origin of a man.

Lukaku is from DR Congo and he looks like them. Pogba is there and many other examples.

The DNA is still the repository of genetic information. It determines even intelligence.

You have read the man's profile and seen that he has spent all his life and education in the North but in your attempt at achievement by proxy and vicarious living,
you are shouting Igbo this, Imo that.

That man is more Northerner than Igbo. In a more serious country, his state of origin would be in the North since he practically spent all his life there.

With all that said, I must state categorically that you are an idiot for resorting to insults without provocation on my part. May a Dangote truck make a mince meal out of your retarded brain and may crankshaft oil and cement pour into your rotten corpse as you exit the world and make it a better place with your absence. Your inability to reason and moronic behavior is symptomatic of the silly and obtuse behavior we have come to expect from people from your part of the country.

You will surely end up as the enemies of igbo.
You think its easy for the enemies of igbos.
Haters like you only make noise like crickets and shut up immediately the person they are talking about is around.
May thunder and lightening fire you and the vultures feed off whatever nonsense that remains of an idiot of you.

If that's the case why did you Nigerians call the Jan 1966 coup an Igbo coup while it was led by Chukwuma Kaduna Nzogwu a man who was born and raised in the north?

You even went ahead and massacred over 30000 innocent Igbo traders resident in the north who don't even know who Nzogwu is.

Gen Rogers has now achieved a great fit, you suddenly have turned to a lecturer by telling us why the man is more of a northerner than an Igbo man because of 'environment'.

I bet you are one of those that are still calling the coup an Igbo coup. NIGERIANS ARE HYPOCRITES OF THE FIRST ORDER!

You deceitfully forgot that his father's name is Nicholas. He chose to take to his father's name instead of his grandfather's name which is Ibe.

An Igbo never changes his ancestral surname without a good reason, and even when he does, it wont be to an English surname. My coisin changed his surname from that of our ancestral great grand father to that of our grand father. So ask this general why he took an English surname over his ancestral Igbo surname

You are very intelligent usually I would say kudos to your parents but your kind of intelligence is acquired via self development and can't be gotten in classrooms. You are well informed and obviously one who improves his knowledge by reading
Unfortunately I do not agree with your Point on buratai. There are some silly but dangerous mistakes he makes that makes me wonder on how good a strategist he is owing to his vast experience. Let's look at the recent one :how can u announce to the world your war strategy that you are going go bombard certain states and go ahead to even give the dates.... I was highly disappointed and angered as well as confused

Who are the you people you are referring to?

Have you by chance discussed with me before?

In any case, speaking of the first Nigerian coup, a needless one, one might add, Kaduna Nzeogwu was indeed a Northern bred soldier but his other comrades in arms were Midwest and Eastern Igbo. That the coup was considered a tribal Igbo coup had more to do with the ETHNICITIES of those who were KILLED. Why the north lost almost 80% of its officer corps and the main leaders, the West lost its premier Akintola and Adimulegun, its most senior Military officer and the Midwest, its most important Minister, no important person from the east was marked for death. Why wouldn't the coup be classified as an ethnic coup? That the likes of Aguiyi Ironsi, Nnamdi Azikwe and Micheal Opara were free from death while innocent officers like Maimalari and Pam and Kur Muhammed were killed.

Read those facts and put yourself in the shoes of the Northern soldiers and ask yourself if they were not justified to see the coup as an attempt at Eastern hegemony moreso when Ironsi decided to turn the country into a Unitary system while refusing to punish the coup plotters.

I fully agree with you. It is a silly practice he didn't start but he has kept alive; I however think it is one due to the politicization if the army leadership and the desire to show they are doing something.

All armies do this in some way or another but the NA literarily tell BH when and how they'll bombard their positions.

I'm wondering why this logic doesn't apply to the Igbo coup and Kaduna Nzeogwu Chukwuma.
Cos I remember clearly, you hypocritical Nigerians insisting that Nzeogwu remain Igbo, despite his Northern alcuturation ,just to drive home your Igbo coup agenda.

Achebe was roundly condemned by hypocritical Nigerians for trying to suggest that Nzeogwu was only Igbo by name.
