Day 2 - 6 ----> Antibiotics (Meriflox)

yes. it is recomemded that u give antibiotics between day 2 to day 6 of life. it doesn't mean u will now give them antibiotics for that 4 days span Oooo. Else you will simply damage their liver with antibiotics overdose. be guided. Enugo

Noting like overdose here, Give Antibiotics according to recommend dose to avoid antibiotic resistance..... Antibiotics should be giving for @least noting less than 3days depending on what you are treating.

Are you aware that birds can develop resistant to certain antibiotics when u use them too frequently. This is because the residual effect of some of the active ingredients in these antibiotics will later have effect on the liver health. That's one of the core reason why so many feed manufacturers are now adding probiotics in their feed. Howbeit , since u are going to raise them for max. of 10 - 12 weeks while dose them antibiotics. ?? You dont need to give excess antibiotics before you can raise healthy broilers that will weigh 2Kg + in 8 weeks. Be guided my sister.

You know what....use your antibiotics as you want jare. use it everyday if you like. It's your farm.

The Orthodox way is the inorganic way which is the use of antibiotics/anticocci. I wonder where the noise is coming from.

Go and read what my posts man. I did not attact him whatsoever. I only tried to draw his attention to something I've experienced in the farm to which I paid dearly for . I didn't attack him. He did.

Day 13 Report

During the past week 3 mortality was recorded and after a pm Test the birds were diagnosed of Colibacillosis bacteria infection with crd

Treatment : AmoxTylo (3-5days)

LESSON LEARNT

Its either the Colibacillosis infection is from my farm or from Hatchery so during next batch of birds drug containing Amoxicillin or Gentamincin will used during brooding

Colibacillosis is simply e.coli and most antibiotics will deal with it.

Moringa leaf extract or seed is 100% effective against e.coli and Staphylococcus.

That's why I normally recommend feed additives. Herbs in the long term is not feasible and could be tiring.

An example is below. It will completely replace herbs and reduce the wahala of composing every other day.

Orego-Stim is a 100% natural feed additive containing essential oil, steam distilled from the hybrid plant of Origanum vulgare ssp. Hirtum. Orego-Stim® contains over thirty compounds, a natural and complex matrix. Two phenolic compounds, Carvacrol (82%) and Thymol (2.4%) make up close to 85% of the total composition.
These two compounds are natural phenols which along with matrix provide following essential features to Orego-stim:

Orego-Stim function as an Anti-microbial agent against all types of gram +ve and gram –ve bacteria namely E. coli group, Clostridium, Salmonella group, Campylobacter, Streptococcus and Staphylococcus. Improving hatchability in breeders and reduce load of Salmonella group in digestive tract
Improving the efficiency of breeder and layers thereby resulting in uniformity of the eggs, increase in egg production, reduction in the number of cracked, inferior and dirty eggs
