I have landed myself in deep mess. During September last year, a distant relation of mine living in the UK, who was barely surviving, managed to send me 200k naira, to pay up all fees, as regards my education in the University this year, as a fresher.

This money was sent before i even took the schools Post UTME exam. You should understand that she sent the money ahead of time because she knew i was intelligent enough to get the admission. But then, i have been denied admission with a high jamb score in this same uniben, 2016.

But, proceedingly, i was not getting any younger, so, 2017 came and i decided to use the 200k thousand naira i was supposed to use to pay my school fees and acceptance fee. I used it to process my admission into the University of benin. That is, i used the money to sort my admission. Actual amount i used was 150k tho.

Now that i have been admitted into the University as a medical student, i don't have any money to pay my school fee again. The major fees am supposed to pay are,; acceptance fee of 80k and school fee of 73k.

Looking back now, i feel very disappointed in myself and ashamed of myself, but then, though i feel very remorseful, you all should understand that i took this decision after considering a lot of factors and possible scenarios, as i was expecting to get more money from family members when i eventually get admitted,but no money came from anybody, plus the state of the economy of the country was not helping matters either

Financial assistance is what i desperately need now. Also i would also love constructive Advices too, from people who might have had similar experience. But please don't advice me to tell my parents, cos they are late(some 10 years ago).

MEANWHILE, I WON'T BE NEEDING THIS ASSISTANCE NEXT YEAR.

if you're not smart enough to get medicine in the first place, opt for something else. all these excuses you're giving is trash. the cutoff was high, yet people still made the cutoff legitimately. stop trying to make excuses for your inadequacies. if you cant make the cutoff, what makes you think you'll be able to cope in medical school?

Actually, not up to 40 pple made that cutoff... And more often than not, the people that didn't make the cut off are actually more intelligent than the pple that made it... So ahv noticed anyway.

Or have you not seen a physics teacher that score 40 in jambs' physics,...... 40 out of hundred.
Do you think he failed because he doesn't know physics, or because he z not intelligent?

When jamb is concerned, a lot of constraints are considered.

Not supporting the Op's actions, I think I should point something out..
there are people that score above the cut off, and still end up being denied of admission, it is totally unreasonable to conclude that he wasn't admitted into medical school because he wasn't smart enough.

he clearly stated that he didn't meet cutoff. those that set the cutoff are not foolish. medicine is not a course that you can stumble through. if you don't have what it takes, you end up matriculating as a medical student and convocating as a teacher

In my first year in school, I met some medical students in class, with scores that will not get you into Life Sciences on a normal day, yet were admitted, however there were people who did better and ended up being sidelined, but superficial perception of that scenario will make you think it was their intelligence that got them the course.



In a nutshell, There are medical students that scale through the cut off and are admitted, others do too, and are sidelined, there are even cases were people get the same scores, one is picked and the other gets nothing.

So considering the admission system, in Nigeria, it is disdainful & callous to attribute the cause of a persons inability to secure admission on low intelligence without considering other factors.

I still maintain that the Ops actions were wrong nonetheless.
