LaudableXX: Bros relax, I was trying to prove a point to those guys. I don't live in Lagos, I have spent no more than 6 months in Lagos my entire life. |

ositadima1:So which federal law exactly are you talking about? Cite it here, in chapter and verse. There was no mention of federal law, in my post that you quoted. Go back and read it again! 1 Like |

LaudableXX: Majority will always carry the vote, last year a total of seven Nigerians were elected into the UK parliament. They were elected by their constituencies where black are majority. If the present influx of other tribes continue, in the not so distant future the Yorubas will be outnumbered within Lagos, what do you think will happen then? Again, I don't care, just proving a point. |

LaudableXX: Jeez, you said and i quote "law passed by Lagos, it can only be abrogated by a court judgement, or repealed, suspended or modified by another law passed by the same Lagos state house of assembly." This statement is false because federal law supersedes state law. |

LaudableXX: i did not see this when it happened. I would have criticized it too. Your parents did not send you to school to be making the inane logical assumption that everyone who opposes this law has to be from the South East. You MUST do better. |

WinningSun: For the umpteenth time, there are hundreds of ethnic languages in Nigeria. Making English the official language is a common denominator. 'indoctrinated' is being disingenuous. |

LaudableXX:The law isn't the same with the ones passed in Lagos. Lagos's case include tertiary institutions, public places including radio houses owned by the state. |

The law does not affect federal-owned tertiary institutions only state owned institution like Laspotech, Lasu and other mediocre state institutions which none of my relative can ever attend. Anambra also has a similar "Subakwa Igbo" law. |
Re: Yoruba Mandatory For Admission In Lagos Tertiary Institutions by DocHMD: 9:06am On Feb 13, 2018 |
Mynd44: It can not hold water in Federal institutions like Unilag, Yabatach and co. They are not under the purview of state government and cannot be sanctioned by the state government lasu and laspotech. Anambra also has a similar law. Much ado about nothing. |
Re: Yoruba Mandatory For Admission In Lagos Tertiary Institutions by DocHMD: 9:24am On Feb 13, 2018 |
Vado: The first paragraph is correct but your second paragraph I don't agree. Federal universities do not follow state government footsteps and private university need their money and won't adopt language discriminatory policies that will potentially adversely affect the depth of their pockets. 1 Like |

asuustrike2009:And tertiary state-owned institutions in the SE who made Igbo part of the compulsory General Studies courses at 100-level, what do you call them? I didn't hear people from different tribes complaining when that was done in Anambra and Imo, o! |
Re: Yoruba Mandatory For Admission In Lagos Tertiary Institutions by LaudableXX: 10:24am On Feb 13, 2018 |
texazzpete:Don't be silly. By citing the fact that Anambra and Imo did something similar, did I in any way allude to the fact that you must be from the SE? Where exactly did I say you were from the SE? I used those examples, because they were the ones that were well documented. I tried to check the criteria for Kaduna and Kano state-owned tertiary institutions online, but couldn't get the details or else I would have included it, too! Go back to school biko, and stop getting worked up over nothing. Your parents obviously did not send you to school to get all defensive over a law using an indigenous language, as a harmless criteria for admission, . 3 Likes |

ositadima1:You keep arguing a clueless point. The fact that those 7 Black politicians were elected into parliament, does NOT mean that black people were in the majority in the UK. It just means the politicians articulated their programmes and campaigns well-enough, to attract people who cut across all races, to vote for them. Or did you hear that only black people voted for those black politicians in the UK?? 3 Likes |
