You must be very inane.

I never made reference to the attached tweets for the "as one South African said" remark. I got it from somewhere else. Another event entirely. So don't gimme that bullcrap.

And yes maybe Nigeria isn't as immoral as Ghana or South Africa, but it's no news that these countries are ahead of us in terms of economic and social advancement.

It's a bad thing thing to be immoral. But it's even worse if you're in abject poverty.

You’re an A1 knucklehead trying to act clever and smart when you clearly haven’t read anything beyond Nairaland threads .

Unfortunately, you also have the added bonus of having a baseless pride making you unable to own up to your errors.

See how you deny your own statements like a h00ker caught with condoms then lamely try to deflect the topic by bringing up poverty and economy.

Olodo, Ghana’s economy is not even up to that of Lagos state alone. $98 billion dollars against $50 billion. So I don’t know where you get the economic angle from.

Maybe I should ask you when last you read anything outside Nairaland?

Someone asked a nice question.....he said Nigerian people will read this and have butterflies all over their stomach but do we have light in Nigeria See why am always against celebrating mediocre that question alone should send a big massage to us that Nigerians (especially youths) major on the minor and minor on the major if all our e-worrios tackles the government with same strength they use online to campaign for nonsense Nigeria would have been a better place....if they start a (give us 24hrs) light campaign on twitter and it runs for about 3 days you will see good improvement Nigerian government think we youths are dumb that's why they don't do things until a campaign or protest is raised for it either physically or online...Nigerian youth make una get sense and use una time well
you can start it bro

The last sentence is just mere consolation. Why do we Nigerians always love to feel superior over other African countries, that are even faring better than us? Smh. The world doesn't revolve around us.

The world might not revolve around us but Africa damn does. What are you on about actually? In a bid to sound like a critic you go around sounding like someone that is uninformed. Yes we have our own problems but throwing your own country to the gutters just to prove a point in front of strangers is pure bull crap. More like Treason. What's wrong with you? South Africa got their infrastructure handed to them by the whites. They met a ready made country after apartheid. Ghana and other countries that have constant electricity can talk when they have the same consumption level and population we have. There are mitigating factors here. We have fought to keep most African Nations safe. We have improved their Economies through bilateral trades, we have exported even our electricity to these same critics. Yet they want to have an opinion. I won't have a problem if it's coming from external camps, but people like you talking like traitors just cannot be tolerated.

How do you mean there are more immoral? I've been getting such references and I'm surprised. Lol. It's self righteousness to say Ghana and SA are immoral than Nigeria. What do they do that we don't? Just name one thing? Or is it because were hypocritical? The girl who gives a Mouth Gig on Saturday night would take front row in Choir on Sunday morning. That is why we are not as immoral?

Make we dey talk truth at times.

The Nigerian Youth is a laughing stock abeg.
Nigerian youth?laughing stock?,were you not once a youth, what did you offer?,most naija youths now hustle for money, and leave the leadership to the greedy, selfish, corrupt, bloody elders, cause we know nothing can work out if those old fools are still breathing

Methinks it gets that much hype because Nigerians are more immoral.

I don't think the BBN thing is something to be proud of.

Like one South African asked. Do we have light? Are our citizens assured of protection? How good are our roads? Is our Government working?

These are things that are supposed to be front burner topics in our discussions. Not whether BBN is better than BBA.

I weep for our youths.
you really drove the nail home! bbn or bba I've never spent ten minutes of my precious time watching any of them.

South Africa got their infrastructures handed to them by the whites right? So did Nigeria. Upon independence there were a lot of investments by the Europeans here. Where are they today?

You will not understand my anger. Because by the 70s and 80s, Nigeria was ahead of so so so many countries. The King of Saudi Arabia had to come to Ibadan then for medical check up. Can that happen now?

Let us not mince words. Nigeria is retrogressive. I can't argue with a country that has 24hrs power supply. It's just unreasonable. The fact that Nigeria has helped so many countries and gained nothing in return further shows how stupid and useless your country is. Even the US doesn't do stuff like that.

You may not like my point of view. Indeed the truth is bitter. I am very patriotic. Don't misconstrue my words. But I don't sugarcoat things.

Nigeria should not be talking where Ghana and SA are talking. We are merely living on past glory. No reasonable achievement in the last 2 decades.

I don't always believe this exporting of electricity to other countries thing. But if it is indeed true, then Nigeria is more stupid than I imagined.

But aren't the citizens enjoying? If they aren't, why are Nigerians leaving for Ghana?

Nigeria has the largest economy in Africa with the worst police in the world and the second to the worst in terms of power supply. Try to reconcile that fact.

I understand bashing Nigeria online these days is a short circuit to getting likes but that shouldn’t encourage blind and ignorant criticism.

I will not tarry on this argument further to prove nothing, but if you think people move to another country solely for economic reasons then we shouldn’t be having this convo in the first place.

I will leave you with this:

Go check these economic measurements between Nigeria vs Ghana

•GDP nomina

• GDP per capita

• GDP base

• PPP

Nigeria trumps Ghana embarrassingly accounting for 76% of the economy of the entire West Africa.

Yes, we are the crouching giant of Africa. But we're a mediocre nation, bordering on average. We are on the cusp of greatness, yet seem far from it. Tee Word, there, raised pertinent questions :why low quality products. It is mediocrity. If you wanna rule the world, you must be the very best. Yes, undivided best!

I'm not happy with the state of Nigeria, but l detest blind criticism, you think Nigerians are totally worse off than Ghanians? What makes you think so? Lagos has a population of about 27million, which is just the size of Ghana, both Lagos and Rivers state would definitely have more wealthy people than you have in Ghana.
Things are not as they should be, but come on take am easy, soon you would say Ivory coast is doing way better than Nigeria, criticism is good but exaggerations could be misleading.

These are not excuses but facts, why compare Ghana to Nigeria? lndia has so many problems, and they complain about the economy all the time, Russia has been in a deep mess since the fall of oil prices in 2016. U.S is definitely not as developed as Norway, but you can't compare Norway or Denmark to U.S because of that.

But the crux of the matter is that Nigeria is underdeveloped. Very underdeveloped. Our population shouldn't be an excuse. I wonder why you brought it up.

it's beyond shocking when a citizen will have nothing good to say about his country in comparison to other countries in an online forum.

Guy you can't compare Ghana with Nigeria. The distance is too wide. Nigeria is far better. The problem with many Nigerians is that they only know the problem of their own country without bothering to know what other countries are facing. Let me tell you... most countries want to hide their problems from the media...is like Nigeria is the only country that has her problem too exposed to the outside world in the media... even America doesnt show their bad side to the media...

You can go to Ghana yourself and see if they are better.... they are complaining there like anything.

Infact Nigeria is a great country... many of this Africa countries have light simply because they are not many and dont have property and industry like Nigeria....

Many of them dont have generated power up to half of what we generate.... Ghana is around appr 900 MW to 1000 MW

For Nigeria to have stable light we need to exceed our current capacity far beyond maybe like up to 20K MW

There is something I have come to understand about Country development.
A country development lies in the hand of her Government and her People.

Many country have govt. but do not have pple... like pple in terms of intelligence, hard work, exposure, connection, bravery etc...

If you go to these countries you will see that they are lazy.... Nigeria has people... we dont have govt. We are very intelligent, hardworking, exposed, brave etc.... when you visit these countries you get to understand this very well

The reason why Nigeria still stand tall till today is becos of her people. You cant undermine what the people can do to a country. US, China etc have pple and Govt and that is why they are thriving very well...

The only problem of Nigeria is her Govt. But we are thankful unto God dat we have people and we can see it all over that Nigerians are doing well... despite our condition we still rule in terms of economy thanks to the people - our biz moguls. In Entertainment we still rule... kudos to the entertainment industry. Nigerians go abroad and still outshines the white academically. We have the first produced car in Africa... kudos to Innocent Chukwuma. Our banks GT, Eco, UBA, Access etc are all over Africa. Our own Network Glo happens to be one of the networks that single handedly constructed a submarine cable running from UK to Nigeria... most network patners to do this.. even MTN partnered... we have the largest cement factory in Africa. We have the richest man in Africa from Nigeria. The most educated Community in US is the Nigerian Community there. We conquered Ebola without any help from the white. We own the intellectual property behind the technology that makes the computer very fast today...kudos to Emagwali
And so on.... Nigeria is truly a great country... even the Americans are jealous of us....
By the time we overcome our Govt. problem many of these top world country will not be able to stand us.

My advice is let us stop painting our country badly in a blind and destructive manner... even when you want to discuss Nigeria problem let it come out objectively and constructively with facts and way out.... not just saying we have problem.... Saying something good about our country will help to attract people to our country and this will help our economy. It will also help to scrape the bad stigma that is on us out there (the travellers)...

I am happy and thankful I belong to this great country

God bless Nigeria

Thanks

Hey my guy watz up? long time
Yeah at least they built schools, the whites didn't build a single university to educate a substantial number of the Nigerian populace before they left at independence nor did they build the power plants we now have, they built only things that would help them exploit the resources and gave education to a few who would work for them.
So much of the progress in the seventies he was talking about wasn't from the whites who left at independence in the sixties.
ln summary, Nigeria was 90% rural in the sixties, you can't compare Nigeria of the sixties to SA of thesame era. it seems the whites wanted to stay in SA, but knew they would leave West Africa someday, Prolly because of the weather.
The South African black has made giant strides since then though, and l agree they weren't that educated, but my point is that foundation matters. For example you can't compare the Johannesburg stock exchange which was way advanced since the early 20th century, to the Nigerian stock exchange which began in 1960 and has been regulated by policies from military rule for a better part of its' lifespan.
Still l agree Nigeria has retrogressed from the seventies, and South Africans are way ahead, also the South African blacks have made great progress since 1994 and should be celebrated.
