Good morning bro...first and foremost, this earth has been existing for millions of years...

And there are fossils tested by Archaeogenticists which carbon dates these fossils to have existed at a time prior to when Adam was created if you go by analysis done by theologists and scholars concerning Biblical account of creation in Genesis

Good Morning Mr Okaicorne. I have been waiting for your reply. Thats really interesting. Makes me wonder what must have been going on before the creator decided to make man.

A whole lot has happened...which is lost to the hands of time.

There is an extent to how far one can reconstruct past events using fragments of evidence available today...but in the absence of such, everything is lost to the passage of time...unless you have the ability to transcend time and see the ancient past.

It takes another step of enlightenment to get there...but it is a very very narrow path...and a nearly impossible feat to achieve.

One person comes to mind though... Edgar Cayce. Go and read up on him. But as a word of caution, treat whatever you see in your research with a neutral mind.
