It is a carryover from religion. Nigerian youths are characteristically very docile, nonchalant, gullible and too easy to impress. They expect miracles where critical thinking is necessary thus breeding intellectual laziness, mental degradation and abysmal application of learned principles. They have no foundation to handle diplomacy and doggedness needed in politics. The best thing is to hand them weapons so that they can systematically self-annihilate. Emphasis mine. / |

I am aware that over the years Nigerian youths have proven themselves and earned accolades around the world in various fields 'Bigbrother' is such flimsy excuse for not giving youth a chance. Ps.people chose what they do with their leisure for some it's football others it's Bigbrother. |

The write up makes sense. The Nigerian political system does not favour the youth. How can a youth with legitimate business earn millions to buy nomination form not to talk of campaign.Nigerian politics starting from political parties encourage corruption. As for BBN that is for the people who watch it. |

[quote author=Akshow post=65195330]Payport, dstv, multi-choice are private companies and are not saddled with the responsibility of infrastructural development of Nigeria. They are in for their money. Hold ur government responsible for lack of infrastructures. Again, i don't see how big brother is different from the Game of thrones y'all modaphuckers follow religiously. Have u condemn the followers of game of throne? Or its not necessary cos they are oyinbo. oshisko. Have u condemned the Nigerians who prefer foreign leagues to NPL? they boost the revenue and develop the sport of other european countries but ours is in shambles but big brother is the problem. Nigeria is the highest watchers of porn, dont tell me its only those watching big brother that watch porn. My point, do what u want to do and stop feeling intellectually or morally superior to others simply because they enjoy something you dont.[/quote. U hit it well nigga....d advanced nations has more of these shows yet they are better than us in every ramifications.... This write is another overrated baseless write up must he bring big brother to it.... It's an entertainment show....... hw many opportunities are we creating for our youths to thrive.... Buhari murtala gowon and d rest enjoyed dier youth Cos d framework was ok.....Wat is d level of our infrastructure toda....abeg make I come de go self |

Nigerians are very ridiculous, this article is nothing but yet another attention seeking attempt to use the big brother as the fall guy, anyone who blames Nigeria woes of a mere entertainment that runs for just three months max is an undiluted idiot and a coward. A nation that wants to progress will do so no matter what, US and UK have the biggest and longest reality shows yet they are a working nation, big brother show isn't Nigeria's problem, anyone who thinks so should go and borrow a new brain. |

Yes, you are very right, naija youths are just bunch of unserious elements but one thing I want to let the writer know in clear terms is that, 1.,The problem of the country is not about the youths, its about everyone, it's not only youths that sells their votes, not all the old are rich, Nigerians are generally docile, they don't know how to speak up in the face of oppression, they rather pray to God to help them. Check your work place, pressure groups, you will see that greed, lies, corruption is the other of the day. Check those labor unions, and you know that the leaders are just using them to bargain for themselves, go to churches and u see how monies are been mismanaged .. It's not about the youths, it's general 2. Leadership does not have anything to do with age, buhari is not failing because he's old, he's failing because he's senseless and retarded. There are lots of poor young leaders, while there are very good old Leaders. Not too young to run is not to ceed leadership to youths automatically but to allow youths have equal opportunities like the old, anybody who is competent should win and make the country a better place. 3. Show biz is a very serious business everywhere, There is a state in America that generates most of their income from entertainment, everybody will not be leaders, everybody cannot be politicians, if we gave good institutions, you won't even need to worry about who is president because you know you will get what you work for.. 4. It's in everybody's prerogative to do whatever pleases them, I may chose to watch movies all through my life, it it doesn't stop construction of road, infact some people collect PVC for opening of account and means of identification, people can decide to vote or not, it's their problem, some are not interested in elections and you can't force them. In USA, there were lots of old people that are voting for the first time during their last election... 5. We have leadership crisis, if the country must be good, all hands must be on deck, youths, old, men, women, must reform their minds, and do the right thing where ever they find themselves. Most of the so called activists, and human rights advocates that got into government, what did they do eventually? Our society is generally bad, and the youths are just part of it... |

I laugh ![]() So this man thinks all youths enjoys #BBNaija? ![]() Some of us believed it's not even good for a country like Nigeria. Where u have no road, light or good medicals. Some of us even detest the program with passion. We believed the youth should direct their energy to something that will better the nation and her people. #Fact. The Nigeria headers are like their youths(even worse),because their the cause of the problem. No range should be intimidated. |

Our youths of today have so much time for frivolities that they sadly do not realize the rug is being pulled from beneath them. Like someone rightly said entertainment value=100%, intellectual value=0.000%. Most would not even bother entering this thread. |

The WEAK AND INCOMPETENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN - He was weak because he embraced the "POWER OF LOVE" over the "LOVE OF POWER" I have NEVER seen a man so insulted in his life YET so loved. 2 years gone and the North has called him names, the South West has called him names; the South East has called him names even his brothers have bashed him, YET he remains the light that was at the end of a very dark tunnel. I have never seen a leader who preferred the "POWER OF LOVE" to the "LOVE OF POWER". I have never seen a calmer and humble man like this "weak" JONATHAN. Like David tending to his flocks in the bush, GEJ was tending to students in the classroom and then he was approached to get his 2 passports. Grace had found him as he was picked to become a deputy governor without a godfather or political background or friends. From there is history........ ............. The weak and incompetent man climbed to the number one spot even in the midst of STRONG AND COMPETENT MEN. SOME OF HIS QUOTES REALLY SHOWED HOW WEAK HE WAS. 1) Only a weak man will say "My political ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian" strong men will say "When I lose the election, the dogs and baboons will be soaked in their blood". 2) Only a weak man after being insulted by other regions will say "We are not sworn enemies… We are neighbours who sometimes offend each other, but can always sit down to talk over our differences". Strong men will send crocodile tears, and python dance to the regions to kill innocent people. 3) GEJ was weak, only a weak man would say "Nobody should rig for me. I am assuring Nigerians that though I am contesting, nobody must manipulate votes in my favour. Our votes must count, one man one vote, one woman one vote, one youth, one vote" Strong men just write results in Aso Rock and damn the consequences. 4) Only a weak man would make a call after he has lost an election that was manipulated just to save millions of lives and he said "It was an election and not a war, there was no winner and no loser, we all want a better country". Strong men after they have lost will order their supporters to kill corpers and even the pregnant corpers and take out the babies. 5) He was so weak he said and meant this "I am loyal to Nigeria’s economy. I don’t have accounts or property abroad. All my children live and school in Nigeria". Strong men have their Children live and school in UK all their lives insulting GEJ and instigating anarchy in a country they and their families are not living. 6) WEAK men own up to challenges but still say "We may not have overcome our challenges, but neither have our challenges overcome us". Strong men when faced with challenges just BLAME GEJ. 7) Weak men preach peace because they are weak "Our founding fathers… did not dream of a country where neighbours and friends would exchange bullets in place of handshakes". Strong men say is either this or WE DIE, while their children and wife are in far away UK. Strong men say it's BLOOD for BLOOD. A weak man will unite all tribes together as one. But a strong man will bring about division among tribes as we can testify the statement "onstituencies that gave me 97% can not in all honesty be treated, on some issues, with constituencies that gave me 5%". 9) Only a weak man would leave Aso rock healthy with his wife and family. We all know what happened to the strong men before and after him. I can go on and one to prove GEJ was a "weak man". But lastly only a weak man can say this "I prefer to see the silver lining in the dark cloud rather than the dark cloud in the silver lining". This is why he never answers them; he sees the silver lining in the insults and they only make him stronger. 2 years gone, and he has loved ones that would stand by him. MAY GEJ LIVE LONG AND MAY GOD GRANT HIM THE GRACE NEVER TO CHANGE FROM BEING WEAK TO BEING "STRONG". AGAIN ONLY A WEAK PRESIDENT CAN UNITE NIGERIA THE WAY HE DID. 2 YEARS GONE AND A STRONG AND COMPETENT MAN HAS TORN NIGERIA APART. INDEED THERE LIES GREAT UNTOLD STRENGTH IN WEAKNESS AND GEJ PROVES THAT. IF EVERYONE LEAVES THIS MAN, I WILL BE THE LAST PERSON TO INSULT HIM; HE IS MY WEAK HERO. |

ALL THESE INSANE PEOPLE SHOULD STOP CRITICIZING THE SHOW OR THE VIEWERS. WERE THE YOUTHS PROACTIVE ABT THE FUTURE BEFORE THE BIG BROTHER SHOW? WILL THEY STAND UP TO CLAIM THEIR RIGHTS AFTER BIG BROTHER SHOW? IF YOU WANT TO CONDEMN THE SHOW COS OF ITS LEVEL OF IMMORALITY, YOU CAN BUT TAGGING IT THE CAUSE OF YOUTH NEGLIGENCE IS A HIGH LEVEL OF STUPIDITY. WHAT HAS THOSE THAT DOESN'T WATCH IT ACCOMPLISHED THAN TO CONDEMN THOSE THAT WATCH. HOW MANY PROTEST OR DEMONSTRATIONS HAVE YOU DONE? SIDOWN THERE THEY CRITICIZE ON THE INTERNET. LEAD, WE GO SHUT THE TV AND FOLLOW. NDI ARA PPLE |

veekid:It's not about the show; that is just a symptom pointing to a greater malady. We are like the foolish man in the proverb who was chasing rats while his house was burning. The passion we exhibit for frivolities like big brother Nigeria is misplaced. Where's the sense in staying glued to a station that just shows young people shut in a house 24/7? Imagine if we employed the same platform to attempt to tackle some issues in our country. Is it not shameful that bbn is being held in south Africa because of the epileptic power supply in Nigeria? Why can't we, the youths do something like boycott the show & engage in protests to demand action from the government? Why can't we use our airtime to disturb our national assembly members to pass people-oriented legislation? Why don't we use social media platforms to engage in debates & enlightening conversations about how to improve our communities? |
