@Post, Got to respect the Chinese. Purchasing western firms (Syngenta, Pirelli, Motorola etc). If you cannot compete with them, purchase them or buy an important stake. Electric vehicles is the future. Good thing about Chinese buying firms is that they manage theirs better than the Japanese.

Smart move by Geely Motors. What I see here is Geely Motors using the Benz brand and technological expertise for its (Geely) electric cars. Smart chess move. The Chinese government is encouraging Chinese companies to aggressively pursue foreign investments, partnerships and complete take-over of western companies. Underestimate the Chinese at your own peril. I wish our leaders were/ are as visionary as the Chinese.

Good question. Honestly speaking a lot of Chinese companies involved in international trade are after making sales and profits so much so that they don't give a hoot whether the quality of their products being ordered by Nigerian importers are to be made abysmally substandard according to the importers. I recall one time I went to a company here to order some stuff one of the sales reps ( a lady ) asked me if I wanted African, Arab or Euro-American standard and prices. Lol! I asked her why the different categories. She told me African customers like cheap and inferior products.
