Is The North Unfair Towards South Politically? by ItsTutsi(op): 10:46pm On Feb 25, 2018
there is no such thing as fair and square in politics! we are in reality, not sort of a game or movie where the good person always wins at the end

politics is all about an agenda that suites the governing elites in majority,it's all about winner takes it all..just like how the north can't blame the south's advantage in education and petroleum resources, the south too can't blame the north in mastering the art of politics and dictating base on how it suites them

it's just like in a reality show, whereby every individual is trying to outsmart the other in order to win..there is nothing like bad and good politics, everyone is serving his/their interest

the likes of America,UK, France etc didn't get to where they are by playing fair politics...there is absolutely no country in this world that play politics fairly!

if this world was fair in general, then we wouldn't have the poor, illiterates, poverty etc

and you should also know that the world fair is "subjective"..what is fair to the south might not be fair to the north,it's all about strategy!

There is something very important you are missing. The idea of having a "federation" is that the federating units of a country cannot be dominated by another federating unit. In other words, wether you from the North, West, East or South, nobody can have a comparative political advantage over the other. In other words, the Regions/federating units/ component units/ areas are autonomous, have resource control, their own parliament.

The fact that we are even talking about the North dominating anyone in Nigeria politically means that the federation of Nigeria is a joke since such a thing should not even be possible in a true federation.

the truth is,even those claiming marginalization,if u scrutinize their respective states, they are highly marginalizing some certain region

Nigeria is a federation in name only, and the North isn't politically astute, because if they were, they'd have politicked their way out of poverty by now.

I perfectly understand,as a southerner it's logical and rational for you to feel shortchanged and treated unfair political wise,I would have felt the same way too,but u have to put sentimate aside and come with a clear conscious..its all about strategy on what will benefit u,politics is a dirty game, the north know "federation" system of government won't favor them bcuz of the issues u pointed out

the north will try every possible means legally and politically to thwart and hamper any effort towards that direction, its not being unfair..its just politics

it's left for southern to unit and pressurise the north into a federation..but for u to be nonchalant and think it will be giving on a platter of gold without working for it,is a wrong mentality

being unfair is "subject" bcuz the north can claim too the southerners want federation bcuz it will favor them..so every region have its interest to serve
