Even though Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has contested several elections for the post of president and failed, merely disregarding or treating his political influence with levity amount to sheer gulliblity. No matter how we down play his role, his endorsement of this present administration in 2015 after losing the primaries played a role in this adminstration emerging victorious. In the event of Dankwambo emerging as PDP presidential flag bearer, Atiku's endorsement will go a long way in helping dankwambo emerge victorious in 2019 polls. As Atiku's political experience and support structures in the north will be a huge leverage for dankwambo, since SS, SE, some parts of NC and SW will willing accept dankwambo who is young, detribalised, intelligent and represent the popular sentiments among young voters, who are tired of septuaginarians dominating our political space with inept and archaic leadership style making us lag behind other nations we are more better of than. If dankwambo can get the political backing of all the PDP stalwarts, he will massively floor PMB in 2019 polls. I laugh at those who think dankwambo will be a feather weight for buhari to win, they had better pray PDP don't project dankwambo, because it will be a battle between the young and the septuagenarians. Of course i can't forget in a hurry how the youth were really instrumental in making buhari emerge the winner in 2015. This time around it will be a batlle between the young and the old, since the old have dared the young to seize power by force rather than wail for power to be handed to them. Under estimate the young at your own peril. |

A Dankwambo simply means Buhari till 2023 bro, please reject this nonsense at once! It will only be a suicidal mission if a Dankwambo should emerge as PDP flagbearer. The only man that can face Buhari and win remains Alhaji Abubakar Atiku! |

Ratello:the truth is buhari is over rated. his failures will be his greatest undoing. Nigerians are yearning for a young presidential candidate. The truth is dankwambo fits the bill more. infact with a dankwambo, young nigerians from SS, SE, SW and NC will happily vote him. |

Ratello:personally i would have loved Atiku, but he will be too old like buhari, so whats the difference? it's time for the young ones to take over, is that not what we have been crying for? |

IBBG:A President engage his intellectual gifts to run a Country since he will be surrounded by "lieutenants" to carry out specific instructions given them. Forget that he will be "too old" tag, Trump became President at 71 and he is doing fine Ronald Reagan became President at 69 and he spent 8 years in power going down as one of America's finest and best so my brother it is not about age but what you have upstairs! Here in Nigeria we have been ruled by youths as President in case you don't know and their inexperienced exposures cost us a lot. Gowon was 31 when he became head of state yet led Nigeria to a wasteful war with Biafra, this same youthful Gowon carelessly said, " the problem with Nigeria is not money but how to spend it". This same youthful Gowon against wise advice went ahead to pay an outstanding salary of a carribean Country's civil servants to the tune of then Nigerian N1.5 million free of charge in 1973 which was a lump sum. This same youthful Gowon left a Marshal Plan of 3Rs to Rehabilitate, Reconstruct and Reintegrate Biafrans after the war in 1970. A youthful Murtala Mohammed was 36 years old when he became head of state in 1975 yet he sacked over 10,000 Southern populated civil servants (against professional advice offered him then by those elderly super permanent secretaries in the civil service) which gave birth to ghost workers in the civil service commission that had cost the Nation wasteful expenses on "workers that don't exist", this same youthful Murtala Mohammed hurriedly map out a certain portion of expansive land (now Abuja) as Federal Capital Territory in 1975 at a time huge funds were being spent on Lagos as the then Federal Capital Territory. What would I say about a youthful, chubby cheeked Obasanjo who messed Nigeria up as a youthful 38 year old head of state in 1976 who scripted the 1979 Constitution that is still plaguing us till date as it has now metamorphosed into the erroneous and one sided 1999 constitution. This same Obasanjo perfected the art of rigging for FEDECO (the regulator of elections then) that rigged for NPN and Shagsri to emerge as President. I can go on but let me stop here but bear it in mind that I am not rubbishing the entire youths but just telling you that to govern Nigeria requires deep understanding of politics and great experience and not for greenhorns. |

Ratello:My brother leading nigeria, is a very tough task that is not meant for an old man. incase you forget, so many things that works out smoothly in advanced countries seems not to work out well in this country. i can even refer to advanced countries as well oiled and automated machine, meanwhile nigeria is still an analog country that still requires manual labour to function. This task is beyond the physical strength of a septuagenaria. Even GEJ who was young came out with grey hairs all over due to the stress of the position. |

Buhari apologist are hell-bent on promoting Dankwambo for PDP so that Bahari will have an easy ride in 2019. As far as Nigeria politics is concern Dankwambo is not a match and does not have the political spread even in the North. |

| Re: If Only Atiku Will Back Dankwambo by IBBG(op): 3:32pm On Feb 26, 2018 |
Ratello:the fact is you can't compare the youth of today with that of the sixties. because youth of today are more exposed and more advanced due to technology. Moreover all the instances you sighted was in the military where youthful rascality is heavily encouraged and the same is still obtainable today even in the military. we once had youths with finese, such as alvan ikoku, nnamdi azikiwe, obefemi awolowo, wole soyinka, matthew mbu, samuel imoke etc. |
| Re: If Only Atiku Will Back Dankwambo by IBBG(op): 3:37pm On Feb 26, 2018 |
KEVIND:my brother buhari never had national spread until a tinubu with media campaign happen to him. Let proper campaign begin then you'll understand what national spread means. Dankwambo only needs to split buhari votes in the north. the young nigerians will do the rest for him down south. i will not cast my vote for a candidate is similar to buhari |
| Re: If Only Atiku Will Back Dankwambo by jieta: 3:48pm On Feb 26, 2018 |
IBBG:and all the youth you listed are from the south, why not list some of the northern youth then. one thing i believe can put Nigeria on the right pact is education, Nigeria should invest heavily in education and we will start seeing changes. |

Ratello:Would you please she'd more light on Gown paying the civil service salary backlog of a foreign country? Which country was this? I would be very grateful to you for more information on this. |
| Re: If Only Atiku Will Back Dankwambo by IBBG(op): 3:53pm On Feb 26, 2018 |
jieta:The point is they are still nigerians. i believe one of the reason why nigeria economy was stronger in the seventies even after the civil war, was because we had so many young persons in govt at the national level then. But that is a far cry from the stark reality on ground today. |

casualobserver1:Yes you can read through this link bro, http://segun.bizland.com/omoigui41.htm it was in the year 1975 sorry I said 1973 and the name of the Country then was Grenada, Gowon goofed bug time on that unilateral blunder as the Supreme Military Commander, you can read the excerpts below; Foreign Policy "This is a difficult area because of the lack of complete information from all concerned. The late Major General JN Garba has written his own opinions of Gowon’s foreign policy ‘misadventures’. However, General Gowon has rarely gone on record to explain his thinking in detail on many less well-known areas of foreign policy during in his time. Thus, what has been labeled negatively by some of his critics may simply be the direct result of lack of information. I am in a position to comment in detail on some of them, like the Cameroon border problem. Some of Gowon’s close lieutenants – like the late Vice Admiral Wey – were extremely tight lipped about their experiences in government. But the Admiral did, on more than occasion before he died, express regret that those who took over from their government in July 1975 never bothered to seek policy clarity from them directly on any issue. The Adedeji panel of 1975/76, which reviewed foreign policy since independence, took no submissions from Gowon or Wey or Hassan. Examples include details of how a planned mercenary invasion of Equatorial Guinea, for purposes of reviving Biafra, was thwarted and whether there were any trade-offs. Then there was the case of personal diplomacy in his pledge to assist Hamani Diori with Nigerian troops during a coup attempt in 1972. Others include Gowon’s decision – in 1975 - to pay the salaries of civil servants in Grenada and train their Police force at Nigerian expense." |

| Re: If Only Atiku Will Back Dankwambo by IBBG(op): 4:20pm On Feb 26, 2018 |
Ratello:you are really funny for trying to use military dictatorship to discredit young persons in democracy. The people i mentioned were young persons when they held sway. whether it was the first republic or last republic is irrelevant. The point is, they burst into the scene and did quite well when they were still quite young. |
