If someone steals your property will it be okay to term u lazy for seeking to get ur property back? They used his music to make money on their platform for 7 years and they don't want to compensate him! 500 million is small, he should have gone for a billion. Its hilarious, people saying he's not popular hence is not worth the amount he's claiming, that's not a ground for any argument in the court. His property was stolen is all that matters

But at the same time, the Telecommunications companies pay artist based on the songs the customers request for or downloaded.
So perhaps no one requested or 'clicked 1' to get your song as their ring tone.
For the artists balling now, I don't think they have this kinda complain.

In summary: Goodluck with your case sha!
If you have a good lawyer, you canb still get 500K from 9mobile.

an intellectual theft is an intellectual theft ...it's non- dependent on whether they click or download....before they put his song on their website...they were supposed to consult with him and draw up some paperwork to that effect...if they think it's good enough to put on their website, they better pay up

But I think (not sure) they get all the songs from PMAN, the body that represents all Nigerian musician, and it is the system that reveal which artist song was downloaded and how much they will pay per download. ( I may be wrong).
Any which ways, you have a very good point there also.

U seem not to understand copyright laws sir, even an up coming artist track can cause a company millions if not settled amicably in developed nations.

it will take 20years + before this case go get head, by then maleke fit don enter 70+

even if e wins
them go visit appeal court
even if he wins in the appeal court.
them go go take am to supreme court.


and judging by how slow our judiciary process is in Nigeria, I am talking 20yrs+
