Potholes... you wouldn't find such potholes in NYC because of how the streets are built. Almost always.... entirely concrete...or concrete at the bottom and asphalt on top. They are not very big as in the pic... they are small.... can be deep...but the side sides are steep and solid... no easing in and out... if you hit a deep one...like I did..m immediate blow out.... I needed a wheel change.... tire finished... rim damaged beyond repair... standard iron rims. NYC ?... every driver biggest fear....potholes... they pop up anytime...any where... but....there are crews that go around at nights filling them. You can even call 311 and report a pothole.... they'll get to it. Why?..the city is responsible for maintenance of the streets. ..and should your car be damaged...then the city can be liable.

Due to the adverse weather, they have potholes, but they fixed them in a day or two, because motorist will sue the local government and also insurance companies if any accident occur due to those potholes.

You said it all, the problem is not the potholes but the fact that no one can be held responsible for maintenance or held liable in case of damage to your car. Our society is a jungle. In a jungle, it is everyone fighting for himself. It is survival of the fittest, the weak can die and no one looks their way or care a hoot about them.

For those of us that have travelled out of this country, such things are not new to us. I have seen Potholes in the UK as well but rare sha. I have seen rough tared roads that can have bad effects on your vehicle in the UK but rare as well. Unlike here in naija it's everywhere
