Should I Return The Phone To The Owner? by olafunny(m): 12:51pm On Mar 01, 2018
I don't know if this is the right section, but I still have to post it anyway.

I found a tecno Camon CM at the back seat of a taxi on my way from my PPA yesterday. Initially, I wanted to inform the driver, but I knew he would want to collect it and probably won't give the owner, or perhaps, make it not easy for the owner to get it back. So I took it upon myself to return the phone to the rightful owner. I alighted with the phone, luckily I was the only one at the back seat when I saw the phone. Unfortunately, the phone was locked with some pattern, so I couldn't access the phone to call the last dialled number on the log.
Also the battery was getting low (around 3% or so) so I had to deprive my sweet BlackBerry Q5 it's right to electricity, just to charge the tecno should the owner finally decided to call. At around 6pm in the evening there was this incessant flashing by a particular number and anytime I tried to answer the call, it cuts. That went on for like 45mins and I was already contemplating whether or not I should put the phone off. Then a number called few minutes after 7, I had to wait for a while to confirm if it was actually a call or the usual tantrum thrown by the previous caller. I picked at the second call, it was a lady and this was our conversation (as I could remember)

Me: hello

Lady: thief! If you don't return the phone, ******curse******. I will go to any length to get that phone. You dnt knw me, and you don't know who you're dealing with. I will show you. Just return the phone

Me: Madam, calm down, I just...

Lady: you think you are smart, you can't sell it cus I will find it. I'm warning you now, just kindly return it else I will arrest u by all means. *cuts the call*

I was amused by her level of stupidity I would say. The number wouldn't even go through if I wanted to make the phone mine. I was vexed actually, so I annoyingly put off the phone.
This morning she called again after I put it on, and she said she thought I wanted to prove stubborn when I switched off the phone. During this morning's conversation, I asked if she's married so I could speak with her husband, but she flared up again so I switched off the phone.

I don't have any intention of keeping the phone whatsoever, but I'm just surprised that a normal human could behave like that.

Anyway if you were in my shoes, would you still return the phone?

If actually that's the way and manner the owner of the phone spoke to me, she won't see that phone again. Or she have to compensate me financially for speaking rudely to me.

She is not ready to get back her phone and appreciate you.
Insist that you speak to a man and make sure she is made to apologize before you make any effort to locate them and give back the phone

If not, and you are not ready to keep the phone, just throw it away into the lagoon

Op remove the sim into another phone so when she calls again you can access the number then send her a text or call her and warn her seriously. Then take the phone to the police station I'm sure they'll collect enough money from her beforehand giving her the phone. Tell her you'll be taking the phone to the police station.

If you return the phone she will still not appriciate is she will believe that she jot you confused by the way she addressed you...
My take
Copy the number she used to call and get a new sim card and start charting with her probably by so doing you. Can make her to understand your intention meanwhile be careful...
