Yeye goofment! Efcc has nothing to do with strong individuals but building a strong institution. Why hold on to one man so dearly like without him the agency would crumble. Indeed magu must be part of the cabal holding this government back because I dont see why we cannot do away with him to make the country move forward. Because of magu so many confirmations are still pending in the senate and the government seems adamant in clearing this back log. Make magu kill una for presidency there! kenodrill:By your statement, Magu is the only man that can do the job in Nigeria. Instead of removing him, we should just close EFCC because no other Nigerian can fit in. Note that the main opposition to Magu is from the DSS, an organ under the presidency, who wrote a damning report against him. I am sure that if you were a senator, you wont see such a report, which the senate requests for before clearing nominies and ignore it. In a nutshell, I think there is even no need for the senate to request for such clearance anymore since it is of no consequence. 3 Likes |

If Magu is a patriot, he should resign that post in the bigger interest of the country. But I'm sure he's afraid of going to jail for corrupt practices himself, hence he's holding on to the post. This won't end well for him, especially after this government. Best for him to resign now and work at saving himself with using current connection. 2 Likes |

I get surprised by Osinbajo. At times positions make people unpredictable. All these go to show that the only corrupt people are those not in their camp and that explains why Nigeria's score by Transparency International is very low inspite of the efforts they are making. Imagine Osinbajo saying Magu cannot be removed because he is the most senior personnel in EFCC. Was he not deployed from the police? can he not be sent back? PointB: 3 Likes 1 Share |

Tecno66: I feel vindicated by his position/utterance. I never for once believe in the camouflage he wore enroute the Vice Presidency. The man couldn't have been in corridor of power this long, work extensively with/for Tinubu and not know how to serve his interest and that of his paymasters. Osibanjo is just being true to type, nothing out of character here. 2 Likes |

Tecno66: There's absolutely no dispute to the fact that magu is not the only one that can boss the anti-corruption committee.the question we should ask ourselves is... 'why are the likes of saraki, dino n other corrupt oriented bigots after magu? Yes I understood there's a report from DSS which question his integrity ,but till date there has not been any concrete facts n evidence to ascertain those claims...hence magu is not guilty of all allegations since his not been proven guilty by any competent court of jurisdiction. So... He(magu)remains the only credible and substantial man to head the commission. |

Mr VP sir, why blaming the Senate? The Senate only base her decision on the recommendation of the report of DSS which is part of your government. All Progressives Confusion Party should fix their house and stop disturbing us with their record breaking show of shame. 1 Like |

Those who are accusing and even insulting the Senate should remember that, Magu's rejection by the Senate was based on two damning reports that emanated from the Presidency. 1 Like |

AkupeMBANO:Nice write up, but in my opinion, I believe the legislative arm of government and the executive arm of government are doing a fantastic job, and I though the legislators might be selfish in their duties. Both parties are putting the constitution to test, checks and balance is the beauty of democracy. I am happy they are both checking each other, imagine during the past administrations when the legislative arm are the rubber stamp of the executive, no one questions the authority of the other, one part will just forward a huge ridiculous sum to the other and it will be approved before you know it. You will agree with me that the Senate is the retirement house of ex-governors and most of them have pending cases with EFCC, that's the reason why they want Magu out so they can negotiate their freedom with who ever the president push forward for screening for the job. They agreed with the president at the party level before election that they will assist him with the fight against corruption with the hope that they will be exempted but when they got into office they noticed that they are also been investigated, that was why they pitched tent with their boss in the game (Saraki) to make sure the president's anti corruption campaign will not succeed. They also know they are not likely to get the party's ticket to go with the president in the next election that's why they are fighting dirty just to ridicule the executive and probably decamp to another available party and present themselves to Nigerians as the good ones. I am enjoying their fight. It's really interesting. 1 Like |

I appreciate your response and the fact that you did not use a foul language like most folks do here once you have a contrary view to theirs. The point some of us try to make is that what we need in this country are strong institutions and not individuals. When the institutions are strong then it doesnt matter who the individuals are. As I make this comment, the prime minister of Israel is being investigated by the police on allegations of corruption because they have strong institutions. Can Nigeria police or EFCC or ICPC open investigation against a Nigerian president? No. In the public service, when you have such allegations like the ones raised by the DSS especially the one where he was accused of staying in an apartment rented for 20 million annually and paid for by a man standing trial for corruption, what happens is to raise a panel to try the person like the panel that tried Maina and not for the government to be the ones defending him. I am sure you are aware that was how Babachua Lawal, the former SGF was given a clearance before they eventually agreed he had a case to answer. kenodrill: 3 Likes |

That's a good one from the presidency. Those clamouring for his sack are the corrupt politicians trying to cover up their misdeeds. They have tested him with all sorts and realized this man his bent on exposing them and their loots. God bless PMB God bless PYO God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria |
