Did you notice the headline/title of he thread? There was no mention of the ethnicity of the victims. Surely it was the Fulanis that have been killed but you would not see the sensationalism that would have accompanied the title if it was CHRISTIANS being killed. With this kind of bias, I can only say the Fulanis would come back in a reprisal attack which would attract an atomic bomb size public outcry, though I'm not Fulani, but I'm certain the Fulanis care more about their revenge more that public image at the present times. There is so much media bias is the broadcasting of the crisis in the north involving Fulanis and other ethnic groups. The Nigerian media has contributed in the escalation of the crisis thatn ever trying to end it. Why? Because we don't want our religion to look bad in the eyes of the world. The circle continues. |

For those criticizing Waziri, you must understand his reasons. Neutrality on all areas, is the bane of justice. And I strongly disagree with those who said he never reacted when other areas or people were attacked. Have you been reading the news lately, or are you just waiting for a chance to nail the man? Are you sure you're not a troll who has infiltrated our ranks in other to cast doubts on the man, thus raising sympathy for the incumbent? What if those cows belonged to someone close to him, and in a bid to bend him, they did what they did? Politics is dirty. People can be silenced by many and any means. But Waziri is not intimidated. This leaves us with two options- Atiku and Duke. But in the game of power, you consider your most chances. Let's say Duke was able to garner some votes from SS, SE, and SW,....and probably, MB (middle-belt), leaving NE and NW virtually a lost zone, the probability of such votes equaling or surpassing that of Atiku's, is very very slim. Atiku has a base. In politics, you must have a history, you must have field knowledge, you must have the understanding of the rules of the game. Atiku has put presidents into power. This man has a political base. Atiku will get votes from SS, SE, SW, MB, NE, NW. This is not a guess, it is a fact. He is Buhari's match, or in actual sense, superior. They want fulani, he is fulani. They want a Muslim, he is a Muslim. They want one who has a base, he has it. Talk of money, he has surplus. But Atiku is a different fulani, just as Umaru Musa-Yaradua. His blood is diluted, and not stone-cold concentrated. He is not from #Daura. He is sane. Not an extremist. Not a military man. He has a knowledge of the economy. Duke is young, intelligent, looks hopeful. The problem is, who are his base? Who surrounds him? Which is why, it is best we (Nigerians) better decide on where specifically our votes will go- To Atiku, or Duke? By the way, Duke won't thrive much in Abuja with a northern oligarchy that still runs this country. That's the stark truth. Politics is a north's chessboard. No other ethnic nationality plays it better. Commerce is Igbos inheritance. Talk business, talk Igbos. IT is Yoruba's swimming pool. Information technology is where they relax. These are crucial lessons to note in this game. So, let's call a spade a spade. OBJ did it once with GEJ, now those guys up north have seen it coming again. Unless, the north is divided in their opinion,.. In the long run, Duke would have to compromise to survive in Aso Rock. Which was why Jonathan humbly bowed out, and which was why Osinbajo shied out when he was the coordinator of Nigeria in his boss's absence. You need a lion to catch a lion. Sending in a goodlooking antelope, into a lion pride, is suicide. So, before we cast our vote 'anyhow' by sharing our votes between these two, let's be wise and channel our whole force, our collective votes to one man- Atiku. Not even a rigged ballot box can outdo the resulting reality. Or haven't you seen a case where a referee has been bribed to favor a particular team, but the underdogs are just too good that even the whistle have refused to blow? The mission is the same: #buhariMustGo |

ebullientkay:Nigerians do not want to vote a leader based on the bold prints anymore. What they want is a young dynamic and intelligent leader with sound economic and modern world outlook, not some expired old horse. As the saying goes, he who sold his dog, only to buy monkey as pet, still has a squatting animal in his house. So away with the old and gives us the young and bold. |

sanerugwei:I share your view walahi, a young and vibrant leader is what we actually need. Nonetheless, there are certain factors in-place to be considered. #First, let's consider that if you get someone who is not independent, or willful (and by that I mean, one who can impress and impose total control of all aspects of the Nigerian political life, including its military and the elder statesmen), all you get in the end is a chicken little who would compromise to superior and more older forces. #Secondly, Nigerian politics is not as that of the Europeans or Americans where to some extent there is a measure of autonomy (and even this is rarely the case, as political gladiators will never cease to exist), little ethnic tension, and wholly non-religious bias. In Nigeria however, the north wields political control and utilizes their population to checkmate and control the political roadmap. They have a good number in NASS, the military (including the service chiefs), etcetera. So, here we have it. If you ain't a favorite and in their good books, it would be a whole lot of a difficult task to actually 'feel' in-charge. #Thirdly, your vantage of youth depends on who you have in mind, but by your analysis, I would say you mean Duke. What are his options? The issue is not Duke himself, it's about his chances. If we throw our votes behind him, remember, the highest bidder wins. Besides, most of his votes are down south. But imagine a candidate who has southern support and can garner votes from the north. We ain't doing this because Duke isn't good enough, no. But if we risk our partial votes for him and someone capitalizes on that and get himself more votes, at the end we might have only encouraged a second term for Bubu. The plan is to not divide our votes between these two, while aother group channels their entire votes to one person (#Bubu). Political success is a game of number, how much you have (can spend) and your popularity. It is not a game of sympathy and reason. It's not something one does because it has to be always right and in order. Sometimes abnormality is the game if it would only lead to success. It's a chess game. I hope that helps. |
