A group of Northern Youths has threatened legal actions against former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, if he fails to run for the Presidency in 2019.

The Youth under the umbrella of Turaki Vanguard Youths and Women Mobilization Group said Abubakar should run for Presidency because he was the only credible candidate from the North-East.


Addressing journalists in Kaduna, national chairman of the body, Zachariah Diwong said the Waziri of Adamawa is the only credible Nigerian that had the capacity to transform the country.

Diwong also noted that the former Vice President was the most youths friendly leader that has mentored Nigerian youth over the years.

According to Diwong, “For equity, justice and fairness, we believe it is time for the entire north to support somebody from the northeast to as our President. And Atiku is the best from that region.

“Atiku Abubakar is a tested and trusted individual who has the capacity to transform Nigeria better than what it is today.


“Nobody from the North Eastern Nigeria is most qualify than the former Vice President. He is the man that knows Nigeria. The man who has been in the policy making of Nigeria. A philanthropist.

“For these reasons and many more, we the Youth from the Northwest hereby endorsed Atiku Abubakar for presidency come 2019 and failure to contest, legal actions will be taken.”
