Your score is low for an Engineering course. I would suggest you look at changing to a State University, preferably the one in your state. Of course you know that state universities are more expensive than federal universities.

You need to research on the ones that are not that competitive to get into and go for them.

Rivers State University, formerly called Rivers State University Of Science And Technology (RSUST) is not that competitive to get into.

I know someone who gained admission into the school in the 2015/2016 academic session to study Mechanical Engineering with a UTME score of 192 and a Post UTME score of 40%.

Their cut-off is gotten by dividing UTME score by 8, then Post UTME score is divided by 2. The two scores are added to arrive at the cut-off point and candidates would be admitted once they reach the expected cut-off mark regardless of their state of origin.

Example:
UTME: 192/8=24
Post UTME: 40%/2=20
UTME+Post UTME: 24+20=44

However, the person in question could not resume studies with the school due to financial challenges. If finance is not your problem, then you can go ahead and change to Rivers State University.

fuoye only do screnning for their admission processes, by dividing ur jamb score by 8 and grading ur o-level, u can go and do reseach on the grading to know your o-level point, after knowing ur grade, add it up to ur jamb point to know your aggregate, if u attain like 60 - 65 in your aggregate, there is no need for change of course, but if u attain below that point, you can do change of course to less competitive course like sociology (if u have economics in your o-level result).

i will advice u to change institution instead of course, because unilorin dont use putme score as criteria, they use high jamb score, just imaging the number of candidate that apply for chemistry or zoology with high score, they will consider them first before you, the only way u can attain admission into unilorin with that score, is unless u apply for their remedial program.

u have 17point in your o-level plus 24.875 (ur jamb point) u have a total 41.875, my brother even if u change ur course to sociology, there is no chance for u. my advice for u is that, change ur institution to oou (olabisi onabanjo university). oou is base on putme score, if u can change to oou with less competitive course, u have a better chance of securing admission there. so u make sure u read very well, to attain good score in your putme, because that is where ur hope lies, only if u can read very well and attain good score like 60% - 65%. in ur putme. u will surely get admitted this year.
