I'm considering purchasing a car to give out on hire purchase or rentals. I have some questions and I'll appreciate some help from those with cars on the road.

1. What are the differences between HP and Rental. What are the things to watch for in each agreement type.

2. What is the typical weekly remittance for HP and how long does it last (for which car)

3. What is the typical weekly remittance for rentals and how long does it last (for which car)

4. I have heard that it is best to buy tokunbo cars rather than Nigerian used, however, there's the cost issue. So which one do you usually buy and why?

5. Can someone share with me sample agreements for both HP and rentals?

Other than anecdotal evidences, most people on this forum have an incomplete picture of the ogunvic14 issue. @Romeo3 stated here that he was no longer associated with ogunvic14 without giving the forum reasons why he decided to disassociate with him. Nevermind that he claimed their issues to be private and not to be publicly discussed at some point.
@kunletoks on March 11, 2018 had this to say "Please anyone with information on Ogunvic41 of Fleet Xpert whereabout should please contact me. The guy is a criminal." There was no reason given to give such a statement.
@prodigyx1 on Jan 27, 2018 an accusation of misconduct was made by the op. On Jan 28, 2018, it was followed up with a kind of a "resolution in progress" statement on by both ogunvic14 and prodigyx1 (see below)

ogunvic41: Jan. 28, 2018.

I HAVE SPOKEN TO MR CHUCKS(OP)THIS MORNING... HE HAD FAULTS, I HAVE MINE... WE HAVE RESOLVED OUR DIFFERENCES, HIS CAR WILL BE OUT 2MORO, WE WILL COMMENCE FIXING BY WEDNESDAY... CAR WILL START DRIVING ASAP...I WILL COMPENSATE HIM..WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES, I LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES, IT MAKES ME GO HIGH, STRONGER AND BETTER, EVEN BIG COMPANIES DO. NO BIG DEAL..MORE ENEMIES DAILY, ITS A SIGN PROGRESS...THE ENEMIES WILL NOT STOP ME FROM HELPING PEOPLE ON THIS THREAD, EVEN GUYS I HAVE HELPED, ENCOURAGED AND MOTIVATED ALL CAME OUT TO CRITICISE WITHOUT HEARING MY OWN SIDE OF THE STORY, IT IS EXPECTED. AS A MAN I LIVE LIFE AS IF I WILL DIE THE NEXT DAY, AM ALWAYS PREPARED FOR THE WORST, THE WORLD IS A BATTLE FIELD SOME SOLDIERS DIE WHILE FIGHTING OTHERS KEEP FIGHTING, I CAME WITH NOTHING INTO THIS WORLD, I WILL LEAVE WITH NOTHING, ONLY THE GOOD I DO WILL STAND AND REMAIN....
THERE IS NO SCAM AT ALL... AND TO THOSE WHO THREATENED WITH ARREST AND LAWSUITS AM WAITING O, WE HAVE COMPETENT LAWYERS IN OUR TEAM, INFACT TWO OF MY DRIVERS ON THIS THREAD ARE LAWYERS SO NO FEAR AT ALL, WE HAVENT COMMITTED ANY CRIME...CALL ME ARROGANT, PROUD AND RUDE, THATS UR OPINION ABOUT ME...FEW HAVE MET ME IN PERSON THEY WILL TELL U MORE ABOUT ME IF U CARE TO KNOW...
LASTLY, I WANT TO APOLOGIZE TO FRIENDS, FANS, FOLLOWERS AND PROPOSED INVESTORS WE HAVE RESOLVED WITH OUR CLIENTS....I HAVE CHOSEN TO IGNORE SOME GUYS ON THE THREAD, IF U NEED MORE CLARIFICATIONS CALL MY NUMBER 08032800453
TNX TO EVERYTHING...
WE KEEP LAGOS MOVING DAY AND NIGHT...
I AM VICTOR CO FOUNDER FLEETXPERT INNOVATIONS LTD

@prodigyx1 (response)

"Please Be careful, don't allow me look back. I try to always ask for solutions and not dwell on problems.

That you called and narrated everything I said doesn't mean we have resolved issues. You should have waited till you actually do something responsible before posting this. Cuz nothing has been done by you since this whole incident. Your first call was over an hour and had no apology not even after all that happened that I had to tell you what you should have done and prevented this whole issue. And after the call you thought over and decide to call back and apologize. And all your suggestions are the same thing the car owners were asking for from the get go and you decided to waste their time and money cuz you had more important "stuffs". Seriously don't let me look back.

As to fault, I'm waiting for you to point out mine. Even if in a private call or face to face or even here. Like someone said "don't hide under the unknown". The call records will be uploaded any way possible if I notice any false accusations.

As per compensation, keep telling yourself whatever you like.. If till this day I still don't know how money was made but I received zero naira when it was due and no amount has been remitted for 2 weeks work. And you never discuss it when we speak. Perhaps you still need to read your own terms and conditions.

My initial silence was out of restraint to allow you redeem yourself but coming here boasting and saying what hasn't happened is just very annoying. You just couldn't exercise control over yourself. Its terrible."

@ jpworld gave us this yesterday March 13, 2018.

"Attention everyone, ogunvic41 is officially a fugitive of the law, he was detained on Feb 28 and release after 2days. Promising to come back to the police station on March 6th,
he never return to the station up till this moment, then on that same March 6th romeo3 called complanaint/kunletoks that an Army man in barracks has also detain ogunvic41 ever since then his number has been switched off.

A guy on this forum prince stand as shorty for ogunvic41 @ the station, when kunletoks called, he says he doesn’t know ogunvic41 that much, after few days shorty number also switched off.

If you hav any dealings with him, or he has been calling you in secret, notify the public now.

Romeo3 denouncing ogunvic41 in public is not enough, you are his partner when this transaction was done, and you need to be arrested as an accomplice, so prepare yourself for detention.

All of you involve in cheating this guy, you cannot run for long, I’m now fully involve, get ready SARS is coming for you"

Questions:

1. Has ogunvic14 gotten himself and by implication/association Romeo3 involved in other issues different from the one reported by prodigyx1 on Jan 27, 2018?
2. Can @prodigyx1 update this forum regarding the misconduct accusation he originally made against ogunvic14 on Jan. 27, 2018. Was there a resolution?
3@jpworld can you paint a more detailed picture of the case/s against ogunvic14 if you have such information?
4@Romeo3 have you been implicated in any of ogunvic14's illegal dealings? Have you been dragged to a police station because of some of ogunvic14's activities? In retrospect, do you regret your association or partnership with ogunvic14?

Thanking you all in anticipation of your responses.

My brother I don't think any of them need to reply or answer these questions. When people were giving their cars left and right. I was saying profit share does not make sense at all. People were calling me a hater, I posted my experience with Ogunvic41. Don't get me wrong , he is very talented and very passionate about the business. They few things I observed I made it clear on the forum.
Now the bottom line, the people that are crying now have themselves to blame. I don't feel bad for them at all. Greed was there downfall. Afterall Ogunvic41 did not put a gun to anybody's head to sign the T/C .
The issue with him buying cars and not delivering cars to the respective owners , that I can't say much on. I don't have the full details on. And I was also saying that spending 1.4 million or more on a refurbished peguout was not really a good idea. I made that clear, that it is better to try and buy a tokunbo or a grade A naija use. But I was called a hater abi. I even mention that how can you get good service when a fleet manager has many cars under him. And that it is better to have your own team if u want to do the business long term.
Now the same warning that I point out is about to repeat itself. Partners that are giving out their grade A or tokunbo cars at 30k to 35k per week. You will have yourself to blame when you can't make profit o. You are to blame for drivers ganging up for cheap rental. Eventually, you guys will loss either all your profit or go bankrupt . And the drivers will now come back to their senses. For me I will do my best to ride it out.
I don't feel bad for nobody that lost money under Ogunvic41. We need to take responsibility for own actions. And we need to do our due diligence when doing business. It's a jungle out here investors don't be stupid, do your research and ask questions. Don't be a victim to greedy drivers or offer your car at a give away price on rental. At the end you can't blame anybody look for red flags. A word is enough for the Wise

Yeah, a lot of luck is involved. Positioning still matters too
of course, there are times one should be around the commercial areas and other times residential areas. etc

No one is saying you shouldn't put ur rental on 40k or above....but puting a high rate on rental and still coming up with unreasonable terms and condition like sharing mentainance, car packed for 24 hours even some will ask u to pack it during the weekend and you are expecting him to deliver 40k at the end of the week...who does that?.....I will upload a term and condition a partner on this platform send a driver...after u want 40k, u expect him to take responsibility of mentainance less than 15k, car will be packed on Sunday..and lots more like that...u want to eat ur cake and have it...its never done..

Talking about rental, let's be factual.
It's quite wrong to give a car in a not so good condition and expect 40k in return,
Should you want 40k in return then your car should be top notch, it's as simple as that.

About Ogunvic's issue :
It is now very certain he lied about the number of cars he has on the platform cuz if truly he does, things shouldn't have gone this way. Don't know the rationale behind the buying a refurbished 406 for such an exorbitant amount.

Romeo, yes u denounced your association with Ogunvic but as it stands now you still have questions to answer cuz some of the transactions that was carried out happened when you guys were partners.

Drivers, before you sign an agreement, read the terms and conditions, if you are not okay with it, it is very simple don't take the car.

Yes I do understand your point without bias. To me that his a bad deal. The maximum for a rental for a tokunbo car or Nigerian grade A used should be 40k. Especially if the cars are maybe, just maybe starting from 05 upwards and it's a 2.0liter to 1.8liter below
Now owners should be responsible too and be fair. Maybe the owner is new to the business. For me personally I wouldn't give any drivers those conditions.
Now I speak for myself and am sure people will agree with me. My cars are tokunbo from 2007 upwards. The cars are fix and ready for uber. My conditions is drivers pay oil change and anything below 5k drivers are responsible. Which is fair enough but some crazy drivers will wait till the expenses is above 5k to complain . So in that case I will just tell them to bring 5k to cover the cost. To me it is fair enough.

Word of advice don't give out your car for peanuts. If your car is either tokunbo or Grade A naija used. And the car is in perfect condition, and at least it's a 05 upwards. The rental is 40k week o. A word is enough for the Wise. Don't get played by flesh eating, greedy drivers. A word is enough for the wise

Start looking for a better business to invest in. With d way things are going, this business go soon cast. A time is coming only people that own and drive their cars will survive in dis business. I think Govt needs to come in by regulating d fares. The fares are just too ridiculous, u need luck to make money these days. It shouldn’t be so

Bro I wish I can relate with you. My cars are working and doing OK. I have one down coz am looking for a driver to pay 40k week rental o. If nobody takes it I will just park and live it until somebody is ready. It seems you the only complaining , by the way I have one more car coming hopefully first week April. Other than that I keep it moving bro. Looking at the population of lagos alone . There is room for more cars , it just that drivers are becoming greedy.
