Bro I wish I can relate with you. My cars are working and doing OK. I have one down coz am looking for a driver to pay 40k week rental o. If nobody takes it I will just park and live it until somebody is ready. It seems you the only complaining , by the way I have one more car coming hopefully first week April. Other than that I keep it moving bro. Looking at the population of lagos alone . There is room for more cars , it just that drivers are becoming greedy.

U ain’t on d road. U can’t understand. May God give u drivers that will give 40k. Drive uber without boost or surge and tell me how far.

In this 21st century, people are depending on luck and prayers instead of depending on the ingenuity God has given them. Is it luck or prayers that put men on the moon?

All my drivers are meeting up 40k weekly rental. no complain. Provided the car is corolla or car with less fuel consumption. No stories.

Uber/taxify will continue to grow, remember when fuel price reduced, many people pull their cars, saying is no longer lucrative. Then come the price reduction, many also pull, but today we have plenty of investors to compare b4 and they are all making money.

More drivers are joining, more and more riders are now using Uber/"taxify.

There is room for everybody to succeed, only lazy folks complain, while others keep making money.

Drivers are still making good money. Business is better than ever.

I brought many guys from my hometown to Lagos to drive with Uber, they were into transport in the village, today they are very happy, they can't believe their eyes.

They were like me with good phone, car with Ac, then good weekly pay, Godbless you sis with this wonderful opportunity.

More drivers are begging me to come to Lagos.

Oga stop ranting on driver becoming greedy, wat about partners??don't we have wicked partners with dead cars and still want drivers to deliver 40k wen it shouldn't go more than 30k... u can't be viewing this business from last years perspective..have u ever been on the road for once...the answer is no....back then, u can spend less than 12hrs online with good positioning and still make like 18k and above, but now u will need to spend between 15 to 18hrs before u can make something tangible... Not everyone can work like that... And even if u can, ur car will be the one to suffer for it.....ur car been a tokunbo or grade A Nigerian use doesn't make anything, if its been overused, it will definitely break down someday... The business ain't like before...have u ever wonder why people don't post earnings like before? because everyday ain't Xmas... Ibeg stop tagging drivers as been greedy, drive urself and see...we all have choice, some might do 40k and even above while some can't do more than 35k...that doesn't mean he is greedy or lazy, its all boil down on individual capacity.....

Please lets not start what happened earlier. No need for that. If you feel he is typing nonesense, ignore him. No need for attacks.

If driver's are still consistently Making 40k, don't you believe that's a good thing?

Are they not human being like you.

Are you saying there should be different rental rate for village people and graduates.

If you are a graduate, and you find yourself driving Uber, put your paper aside, and focus on surviving, investors don't care if you are a graduate, if driving Uber is what you have to do to survive, do it and stop complaining.

There are plenty of graduates with no work.

I will consider a hard working driver with primary 6 certificate, that will give me my weekly rental, with no stories, than graduate driver, that will give you stories.

Lol, I thought it was only me that was wondering what village driver and graduate driver had to do with any of these. As long as they meet the rental, isn't that like the koko? Wonder what the guy means by that.

The usual entitlement mentality of most Nigeria graduates. Because I am a graduate, things should be handed to me for no reason.

So some say rental weekly should be as low as 30k, reasons given is drivers have family, bills and more important the biz isn't like b4. Though I feel for this arguments, I still don't get the rational behind it.

A few say it must b 40k or nothing considering its an investment that has to bring back returns sharp sharp. For as long as your vehicle is in great condition, then 40k is it.

Every man to his own tune and dance style.

I try to set weekly rental looking at three KPI that drive the bizness

1. Value of the vehicle : how do we achieve a steady flow that's will not b a burden to reach and remains constant for a 10month period.

2. Maintenance : what price do we pay for maintenance? How do we build a maintenance culture/cost over a 10month period

3. Return on Investment : what is the best value after considering car value and maintenance cost. This gives u value of ur investment.

Drivers or car owners can argue which weekly rate best but what they never argue is how both parties can achieve a sustainable bizness environment while working together.

Yet to see a driver that will propose a good working schedule that takes in consideration maintenance and roi.

All that we see is we are Family me , we have bills, this work is slavery.

Well make I continue to pray for house so my earnings will grow.

I've spent one year now on Uber/Taxify. The truth is the work has gotten more competitive ... I still gross #100,000+ every week; but I have to spend an average of 12 hours on the road everyday!
It's not a lot of drivers that can do that without crashing their car one day.

#35,000 per week rental is the reasonable rental this season, with the driver handling fueling and minor repairs. Owner should take care of the servicing of the car and major repairs.

Drivers should stay away from hp. The reason is simple, driver's cash flow can't handle major issues that are bound to come up with the car. What I advise drivers to do is to set aside for themselves, a "car purchase" fund. Open an Alat account, set it so you won't be able to draw it till about 18 months time, and start paying in #20,000 every week. Even if you are dying in the hospital, the bank will not release the money to you until the maturity date. #20,000 per week multiplied by 75 weeks is #1.5 million! Enough funds for a direct tokunbo car, grade A++ ...

My 2 Kobo though ...
