I met a man who owns a restaurant now, he told me his story, he started from making popcorn beside the road, after making some money rented a shop and started selling soft drinks along with the popcorn in the course of a year and half he already owns a very big restaurant where ppl drive 1/2hours just to come and eat there.

I am here in Moz and I've met with Nigerians, south Africans, Portuguese, Brazilians and ppl from the UK doing various businesses, from agriculture, to spare part, boutiques etc and making it big, you're there saying you won't advice anyone to come and do business here.

Yes Nigeria has a large population which connotes a larger market for Foreign investors.. But these investors re already business tycoons who come to exploit and enlarge there businesses.. So an average Nigerian moving to Mozambique may not be seen as a "Foreign investor".

The Op have mentioned the kind of businesses that thrive in Mozambique.. Barbing, boutique, Restaurants etc.. These are the normal business an average Nigerian do.. No foreign investor will come to Nigeria to open a barbing salon because Nigeria has d population..

Lets understand what the OP is saying b4 talking about "FOREIGN INVESTORS".

So It may not be advisable for large scale foreign investors to invest in Mozambique.. But an average Nigerian can thrive in Mozambique and exploit the little opportunities there.. Simple.

You are talking about foreigners in Mozambique running small businesses like hair salon, restaurant etc in Mozambique. Do you know that Nigeria have over 17 millions of SMEs business? SMEs business such as tailoring, barbing, catering and baking, hair dressing, welding, vulcanizing, mechanics etc are the large source of employment and income for Nigerians. And the number of SMEs business in Nigeria is still growing more.

Your coloration is wrong given that you have American leaving the richest country in the world to relocate and do business in some of the poorest countries including Mozambique

Most people wouldn't make any negative comment about a Nigerian moving to Trinidad. What does Trinidad has to offer better than Mozambique? It seems like we should embrass any country that is out of Africa

Please use your educated mind to research about realities rather than quoting your economic figures. I know a dozen of people , living in poverty or struggling in Nigeria but had to relocate to Mozambique and they are doing fine now. Infact most of them send money back home to their struggling siblings. My uncles living in Mozambique are extremely rich doing business in Mozambique. They enjoy the life more than in Nigeria. Most of these poor countries in GDP you bash, have steady electricity, good roads, pipe-borne water security as you don't worry of being kidnapped or assassinated. Yes there are poor people, but as a Nigerian if you are hardworking, its very easy to succeed in your business than in Nigeria. Most Successful Nigerians living in Nigeria thinks that every body in Nigeria has money like them, look around in your street, village, town are see hopeless and poverty raging through your neighborhoods. Suffering and smiling thaT's what we are yet.

if some has a decree in economics and can't reason with reality. I just wonder, i have an uncle who have big business in 4 west African countries but said he can never invest in naija. the man is d number one importer of electronics in ivory coast.
