The rate at which people especially college students are drowning is alarming. I think it high time Nigerians took swimming seriously. Swimming is a survival skill that every Nigeria should learn. I'm in my late 30s and only learnt how to swim last December! I was ashamed to take swimming lessons from a foreign female instructor, but my wife urged me to ditch my fear and reservations. Today, I can swim! Although I'm not perfect yet but now I can jump into any swimming pool with the fear of drowning!
