I seldom quarel with Christians when they adopt some placebo doctrines. Every denomination has them.

Like in my church, you can't take Holy Communion if you have not been baptized by immersion.

It is placebo because it can not be substaciatef by the scriptures...but it was meant to allow only matured Christians from partaking in the Communion.

Man made but wouldn't lead you to hell or away from Christ.

Placebo in the sense that they have psychological values alone. They make us feel good, better or spiritual! Other than that, I don't know what else it does.

But every Church denomination has at least one.
