Hate to say it, but the guy is looking for a helper in his old age that will take care of him as nature takes its course. He can still father children to brighten his life. It's also a fact that old bachelors in Nigeria never live long as they don't have somebody that cares for them, nor do they have somebody to care for - loneliness is a major cause of early death in older bachelors/widowers.

This is apart from the fresh palm wine he can have access to
