I left OOU for Lautech personally and spent less time there. I spent 4yrs 10 months and that even because of political tussle. Yes, Ajimobi's time has been tumultuous but Lautech will get it right. And OOU is a very wonderful school but very high fee for Medicine.

@op; if you have the money, go to OOU but LAUTECH can give you what you need too.

I'm a lautech medical student. people are just posting rubbish based on ignorance. As far as state university is concerned, lautech is one of the best to study medicine. And concerning the 10years ish, it ends with the current 400L cos of the ownership crisis then.

I spent 7 Years studying a 5 years course. I did not fail at any point in time.

Average medical student in LAUTECH would be in school for 10years. Imagine what that could do to you; psychologically.

you should be the one to learn how to correct people with good manner of approaches. as at 2014 oou medicine and surgery was the best in southwest according to NUC, even left UI and those federal school behind, that's why I came up with that assumption for her to gather more info from others beside this is a public forum that you can air your ideas then is left for u to fault it, not crucifying people on public forum


be guided with your approaches not on public forum but outside



considering the academic instances, oou is better than lautech in medicine course presently (the academics environment, good lectures facilities, availability of medical equipments, sound lecturers that are practicing in their private clinics among many as at 2014 that my friend graduated, don't know about now) but looking at your purse, lautech is better because the sch fee is high

I know you guys had a rough experience and its really tough.
But, what you must know it that political dispensations can define time spent in university in this country.
I got admitted with a lot of my friends into OOU in 2004 and we had a crazy time (including the famous Ago crisis and missing scripts in GNS 101 and 103 - I learnt that issue still persist). I left in 2007 for Lautech and graduated 2012. Funny enough, most of my friend graduated in 2011 and I even served ahead of one (he had 2:2), so its not because he's a dummy).

I must tell you that this problems you're depicting on LAUTECH is a transient one and any other state university can fall into it way easily. LAUTECH is by no way cheap in any way and only for present political consideration can I suggest any one not to go there. However, it sure will normalize after 2019 - as politicians will do all things to impress in their first tenure.

If it is true that NUC ever ranked OOU higher than UI, OAU and UNILAG at any time, then NUC should be queried for dereliction of duty and should be scrapped. Medical Schools are assessed in terms of their teaching hospitals, facilities, quality of manpower, linkages, breakthrough in research, quality of graduates etc. There has never been any year that OOU was rated better than OAU, UI or UNILAG bro. Even if a roadside mechanic visit the teaching hospitals at Sagamu, Ile-Ife, Ibadan and Idi-Araba, he will come out to tell the whole world that OOU cannot be better than these three. You friend who graduated from OOU must have egocentrically misinformed you about medical sciences at OOU.

@op, am also an aspirant of medicine in Oou. note Oou medicine is being controlled by oau, that is why their th is called oauchs. hope u picked them as first choice and u had a mark of 250 and above. without that no admission ooo. part one SCH fees is 186k including hostel. putme is by july or August.
