Terrazzo is actually quite common but in older builds. My Dad did it for our house, also 70’s. Also Ibadan

I love terrazzo and see it's used a lot in churches now. It's my preferred flooring for our buildings. An architect friend of ours laughed at me when I told him we would use terrazzo. He said it was old school. Later that year he got in touch seeking information because he was bidding for a contract in Abuja. A government agency in the financial sector had decided it wanted the tiles in its reception removed and terrazzo installed. 2015.

The problem is getting the skilled workman, and ensuring that the required amount of materials is used. We buy and stock the chippings and cement so there is no room for them to cut corners.

this level of detail no dey nigeria.. nobody is even doing terrazzo again sef.. but funny enough when i was in jabi lake mall abuja i saw one terrazzo work that caught my eye i took a photo of it. i was a bit impressed but not totallly. il upload the photo.. irs on another phone

There was a vendor that advertised terrazzo here awhile back. Not sure about the quality though. You’re right, though sometimes even though the materials are here but the execution and workmanship sometimes lack.

Once again, the stand alone tank stand and the roof cage mounted water tank base.

They both supply water stored from an overhead tank, aided by the force of gravity. They have some advantages and disadvantages.

The steel mounted tank stand takes some compound space, some people has this fear it will fall, its a little costlier.

The tank base built on top of the house mostly mounted on a decked portion of the roof is cheaper to build and does not consume compound space but can cause big problems for the health of the building if it ever leaks. Leaks can occur as water from broken joints, rain water falling into the decked tank base or even water overfill from pumps.

If you've done a deck on top of the house for a water tank as in Spyders picture, can you please show pictures of your process.

Yes. Terrazzo is not that popular anymore and have been replaced by tiles and granites due to the cost, and Naija follow-follow mentality.
But you can still get Terrazzo artisan with good finish as you have shown, it's just a matter of finding one.

This evening, Nigeria Customs raised the import duty on Solar Panels.. I think they noticed alot of middle-class Nigerians are sold to the idea of Solar panels.

Nigeria is not ready to provide Electircity for its citizens and it seems they don't want us to provide for ourselves too..

I don't know if its the Generator Cabal or the EDC's doing this or the government is just looking for money crazily.

Your last paragraph are the monsters preventing or hindering most of the efforts government seems to be doing to provide power for the country, and as long as they are profiteering from the system, don't expect constant power supply in Nigeria, it is called dog chop dog system of government

Someone posted a gas station that was fully solar powered too.

A relative bought into a Lekki scheme that promised electricity. So now they have the normal Naija disruptive service and yet they won't let them use a gas generator. Sometimes we put the cart before the horse.

But at least it's not banned sha.
