The member, representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Umar Baba Jibril is dead.

Aged 58 years, Jibril, a three time member of the house, died in the early hours of Friday in Abuja, one of his political associates, Mr Amuda Dan Sulaiman confirmed.

He was until his death, the Deputy Majority Leader of the house.

He was also a former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly.

My brother, its just a proof that sound health and life is guaranteed by God, no matter how powerful you are, no matter how rich you are to acquire best medical care in any place in d world, once God say it is over then it is over....

Yeah, we will all die one way or the other. However, it is the desire of most people to get to a ripe age before death comes knocking. Deaths that can be avoided through access to better medical care should be avoided. There is a worrying pattern of untimely death among members of the national assembly and I think they should show more concern about their health.

What of thousands of people that die as a result of their insensitive governance. Let them make right laws that allow easy access to quality healthcare which they too can enjoy.

No politician takes good care of his health. I look at people like Buhari and Oyegun and just feel sorry for them. Bubu has learnt to go to London and forget Nigeria though.

such a kind man, last year during my Nysc at kogi he was invited for our inter-house sports competition which he graced and was chairman, he donated bags of cement and provided a plan for the proposed corper's lodge and also gave cash to the school to start the project.
