well the good things about these "yoruba" guys defending their tribe like voltron only means that we are not one and never are we going to be. gradually moving towards breaking up. so we need more of things like this.
And what is wrong with "these yoruba guys" defending their own..........when they perceived them to being wrongfully castigated ? Don't you guys defend your folks even when they have been caught with their greedy hands in our collective cookie jar? So it's okay for you to defends yours but others are not allowed to do same. Tell us, what does that make you?

As for the bolded part of your post above, can you tell us when has the country ever been ONE ?................even as your impish leaders were grinning from ear to ear (like a satiated cat owner who has just given his cat, her favourite brand of cat food) chanting "One Nigeria".

I would have thought that you folks will be over the moon at the events extantly transpiring in the country as it can only culminate in her eventual break-up, which was what you guys wanted ever since July 1966 when it finally dawned on you covetous and greedy souls that the domination your leaders promised us, is not about to occur anytime soon or even in the forseeable future.

You think most of us Yorubas would choose to unite with the Hausa over the Igbos?

You must be joking.

It will never be well with Ojukwu who remained plump and well fed throughout the war, but refused his people food supplies through the land corridor that was agreed to by Nigeria and the humanitarian agencies.
It will never be well with Nigeria that was fighting to hold back a people Who only wanted to be free

The worst thing is that after fighting for "One Nigeria" and a war that claimed millions of lives, the same Nigeria turned out to be a monumental disaster 50 years on

Ojukwu was vindicated in the end

That is the plain truth, while the populace starved, Ojuku and his family were well fed. All attempts to bring supplies to Biafra was thwarted by Ojukwu because he wanted to control the narrative of how inhuman the opponent were.

I think he suffered in his dying days and his legacy is now in ruins, He could not win a single election in any capcity, Non of his children is accorded any respect and his youngest wife is now a form of national bedroom entertainment for the likes of Goodluck Jonathan, FFK, Robert Okonkwo and Peter Obi
shut up what a massive lie is it not awolow that gave gowon the ideal to create the blockades in the first place. Ojukwu did has very best to feed the population with airlifted foods imported from biafran allies like Gabon ur hatred for ojukwu will only make him a hero as ur lies are baseless cause the war is on record from people who fought the war not those cowards behind keyboards.

I reckon you are the rational thinking Yoruba?

What amazes me is that you had nothing to contribute to all the factual historical Nigerian precedents that I have supplied on the matter of war or secession by the Biafrans, or on the famine and economic blockade as already outlined by Azikiwe.

What do you have to say about Robert Goldstein's appeal to Ojukwu to let his own people have the food they needed so desperately and was already available to them?

What do you have to say about Azikiwe detailing how any region which secedes would be calling for war, and how the North will be economically blockaded if it seceded from Nigeria?

What have you to say that an Igbo Ironsi also used military might to squash the NigerDelta Republic and arrested Adaka Boro for treason, inside the same Eastern region of Ojukwu who was to do the same later?

If indeed you are Yoruba, it is fools like you that Igbos daily mock here as "Suffersticated" as a mockery of sophisticated.

It is fools like you that Igbos call cowards to your face in your own region and rather than smack the face of the "mudarfucker", you smile sheepishly like a retar.d.

It is fools like you that Igbos daily mock that you are all agberos who daily depend on the wealth of Igbos in Yorubaland.

It is fools like you that Igbos say you are lazy and stupid, that is why they outsmarted you on your own turf for privileges you allowed them but they cannot allow in their own enclave.

It is fools like you that Igbos deride as slave to Fulani's despite them having a history of political partnership to their own benefit with the same Fulani Northerners, to the detriment of Southern aspirations.

It is fools like you that would allow the Igbos propagate lies and their hypocrisy that can be easily debunked by facts, yet you say I am not rational.

It is fools like You the Igbos like Azikiwe loved so that they can win seats in Parliament that will make him a Premier in the West when other regions including his own had native politicians as Premier. Then him and his ilk would later on say Awolowo is a tribalist for daring to compete and democratically win more seats in Western Parliament to become Premier of his own region.

If you are indeed Yoruba, you are a dead breed of Yoruba. My own breed will never take any quarter from any Nigerian tribe, nor suffer fools gladly.
Brother you are a real tribalist who
has sworn to foment troubles with your hate speeches to other tribe pretending to sympathize with the victims. The likes of you will ever put the country into chaos. Please it's not the best thing to as one who is enlightened.

I reckon I was the one who created the thread with a fake Yoruba name?

I reckon the factual records I posted were the handiwork of a tribalist, because it defeated the planned propaganda that was intended to be achieved by this thread that was not expecting to see any truth posted?

The same type of blockades that Azikiwe advocated if the North will attempt to illegally secede from a country that did not have such provision made.

A situation that Azikiwe ensured was the lot of Nigeria.

mtcheww ur just quoting him out of contest and beside every thing he said was just by the way because the north didn't want independence by 1960. I read the article and it was just obiter. Awolowo was the one who use the blockades and after the war stole millions from the igbos by giving every igbo man #20 naira. In order to destroy the igbos no wonder he lost his sons in a very brutal accident and he died a miserable death. And besides u afonja what of ur oduwa republic. At least biafra was a sovereign nation from 1966 to 1970. The only place I see ur oduwa republic is on social media. Stop hating the igbos because u afonja and almajaris want the same things I.e a sovereign nation but are too cowardly to fight for it. The ojukwu u hate so much is a hero to his people what r u to ur own people why can't u inspire the Yorubas to break this bondage of slave mentality to the hausas it don't pay to envy and hate on things because ur too scared to achieve it. They r so many great Yoruba men who fought for what they believed in a died for a cause like the great gani fawehini forgive my spellings would u call him a fool for that. Or would u call fela an idiot for fighting tyranny even if the obasanjo was from his tribe. Biafra will come no amount of hate will stop it

If you fail to produce a quote of mine stating the bolded text, it would never be well with you and your lineage.

I repeat, mercy can only be shown in war after a surrender, not before.

The aggressor that chose to cross its boundaries into Nigerian boundary after deciding to secede when Azikiwe already ensured it was illegal, and when Ironsi had already militarily prevented Adaka Boro of the NigerDelta Ijaw from doing same in 1966, such aggressor is deserving of equal aggression.

War is not a tea party, it is not a party of friends discussing frivolities. War is life and death.

And when one of the waring parties has been surrounded and totally isolated, it is time to negotiate a conditional surrender with benefits, so as to avoid shedding crocodile tears decades after an unconditional surrender.

It is totally absurd for a party in a war to be wailing that the other party did not show it mercy during the war, or that it did not let it have its way in matters were one was a beggar and the other the benefactor.

If the successful blockade the Nigerian government effected on Biafra as already detailed by Azikiwe as a means to punish the North if it attempted to secede from Nigeria, resulted in famine in a Biafra that did not plan its war strategies, is that not the sign of defeat and is surrender not the next line of action if there was any wisdom in that land.

If they chose not to be wise and decided to forge ahead amidst famine, was Biafra in any position to dictate to its war opponent Nigeria that it would only accept food and relief supplies that would come into Biafra by air flight through Nigerian airspace?

Can a beggar dictate the terms of mercy even when the other party chose to be humane?

You are a disgrace to whatever tribe you are.

When you are done shedding your crocodile tears, you would accept the lessons that history has taught you and be wiser for it.
This is worth reposting
