Planes fly at a max altitude of about 40,000ft aka 8 miles about the earth surface and while at that mere 8 miles above, your naked eyes can not make out a trees housees, nothin.....even in the clearest of weather and lighting conditions....hold this thought for a minute...

The Earth's circumference, is 24,901 miles, which means for each degree of earth surface; we have a length of about 70 miles long...the length of a football field is 90 meters i.e 0.055 miles; meaning for just 1 degree of movement across the earth surface, you must be able to see 1,272 foot fields in one perspective to notice one degree of curvature.

So, flying at a mere 8 miles above, you cannot notice even a tree, how are you going to notice a one degree earth curvature that happens every 70 miles or sustain the viewing perspective of 1,272 x foot field lengths?

So to be able to notice the earth’s curvatures you have to travel farther into space, much more that Air Planes can reach and with a telescope you can see it.

The logic is the same as, if you stand right in front of a very big building, you will not be able to see its corners, it will appear as a continuous flat surface to you; however the further you move away from the building, the more you see and eventually, depending on how wide the building is and your visions permitting, you will start seeing the corners and more structures around its bends.

Astronauts have taken pictures of earth from far away space, using powerful telescopes and its spherical and not flat.

Consider also a thunderstorm. A thunderstorm cell is usually from 6-12km in the tropics. The reason a thunderstorm cell in Lagos can not be seen in Ogun is because of the earth's curvature.

Well, without prejudice to your position, a solid flat surface with undulating contours (like a pancake) can sure inhibit vision (or visibilty) from one end to another - no thanks to the mass and irregular surface...

And solid surfaces or irregular plains (faults, mountains etc) can cast shadows on lowlands at sunrise, thus the blocking of sun rays by high protrusion from the surface can despectrum (cast darkness) on lowlands! Try it out! Flash a torch across an uneven surface and watch carefully how the light does not go round evenly!

You took false pictures from space, sailed falsely round earth and the ship in see thing.

If you take a touch at night and point to a table or any flat object, the shape you see is round because the touch is round that's what the Astronauts in moon does its just because of the camera...that's why the earth appears round.

If you take a sharp camera you can view a ship far far away but because cameras who can really view far distance like from your village to the city aren't on now you claim the earth is flat.
