Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun led delegation to Cardiff, Wales to watch & cheer Anthony Joshua over the weekend.

The Ogun State born British boxer defeated Joseph Parker over the weekend to earn his 4th World Heavyweight title. Anthony's father is from Ogun state.

Granted that Joshua hails from Ogun State, but in this instance, his fight against Parker isn't a National Assignment and neither did he fight on behalf of Ogun State.

What then is the justification for the Governor wasting the state's scarce resources in raising a delegation to go and cheer an athlete doing private business up?

The Governor should have gone as a private citizen in solidarity with his compatriot and fellow Ogun indigene. But trust Nigerian politicians, it is going to be a state sponsored trip and estacodes would be claimed.

Congratulations, Mr Joshua.
