Burning Question 2 ( What Were Their Names?) by Thenewtruth: 3:25pm On Apr 02, 2018
Still me, thenewtruth in the house. So my next burning question.

Background : When Moses was born, a decree was already in existence which says that every Hebrew male child must be killed because they were a threat to their hosts, the Egyptians. When Moses was born three women played critical roles in preserving his life. Let see Exodus 2 : 2,4-7

So the woman conceived and bore a son. And when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months. Then the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river. And her maidens walked along the riverside; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maid to get it. And when she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. So she had compassion on him, and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.” Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, “Shall I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?

Burning Question : Why were their names not written?

Yes their name was recorded in the Bible. Moses father was Amram, his wife is Jochebed. She also bore Miriam and Aaron to him.
Numbers 26 vs 59. Hope that answers your question.

But in Exodus 2:9-10

So the woman took the child and nursed him. And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. So she called his name Moses, saying, “Because I drew him out of the water.”

How did Moses knew his mother if he was named by Pharaoh's daughter and was virtually adopted by her?

Miriam is his younger sister. .. .. So how can it be Miriam?

Can't you read what you quoted by yourself? Moses' mother raised Moses. Miriam the senior sister kept close watch over what went on about the child. When there was need for wet nurse, Miriam asked if she could look amongst the Jews for one, since they knew the child was Jewish and no Egyptian nurse will nurse it.

Moses' mother was called in. She was paid to nurse her own child.

Moses, kept close taps with what went on amongst his people, because, altho he was raised in the palace, he knew his true identity.

Where did you see it written that Miriam was Moses' younger sister?

When Moses was put in a basket and left in the Nile, who was the girl who watched to see what will happen to the child? Was it me?

But in 1st Chronicle 6:3 is the genealogy of Levi:

The children of Amram were Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. And the sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

As you can see Aaron was recorded to be the first child.

As you know that men were always counted 1st.

Matthew 15:38
And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children.

Lemme ask u a question.

What religion do u belong to?

the most peaceful religion on earth?

Well, those days, daughters were hardly even countered as Children. Case in point, the Sons of Jacob. They are countered as 12, but you know that Jacob had duaghters? Dinah was one of them. If the incident of her defilement did happen which made her brothers take revenge on a whole village, her name would not have been mentioned. Even when it was mentioned, she was not countered as a Child.

In the case of Miriam also, she was mentioned only becos of the vital role she played in the life of Moses, without that she wouldn't be mentioned at all.

She who took care of Moses in i fancy, (She was old enough to hang around by the River to watch what will happen and suggested a wet Nurse) was mentioned after Moses.

If they hadn't mentioned her name, your point would have been valid.

I am a God who believes you can only attain the height of spirituality when you start hearing from God and not from men.

You get the point did you? Except a significant event happened with or to the daughters, they are not mentioned.

Leaves thread.
