...connecting your Gotv to your TV using the HDMI port rather than the AV cables will give a quality High Definition Pictures/images.

The USB port enables ur decoder to be read files from your flash drive... With that you can manually upgrade or decoder or even tweak your decoder to view some premium stations for free...

Whoo so if connect hdmi to hdmi i will get better quality from my Tv?

If I got you correctly does that mean if i have movies on a flash drive i can in a way view with the Usb port? The way we use flash on flat screen TVs?

Yes and no

Yes using HDMI instead of normal av cable will give u better pictures, but if the channel u are watching is not in HD u won't get HD images but still better than using av cables. U will nromally see the HD written on the right or left upper corner of channles that are in HD like the ss3 HD in the image below. If u have an HDTv u really have no reason to not use HDMI instead of AV

No u cannot use ur flash to watch movies through the decoder. It's stictly for manually updating or tweaking the decoder. I wouldn't wanna mess with that.

To watch movies from a flash would be a little difficult. U will need to get an Android TV box or if ur DVD Ayer has usb then u can plug there and watch on TV through HDMI commection.

To play from phone to tv, ur gonna need one of the devices below. Plug one end to ur phone and the other end to ur tv.

U should, maybe call their customer service to confirm. When they upgraded dstv decoders to HD they accepted all old deciders and replaced with the HD ones for free.

You should call their care line or go to all these their mega depots you might pay a token tho, it's totally worth it when i connected my hdmi cable with the gotv the difference was extra clear

what now happens to the old one?i cant keep two same decoders and it is not easy to get a buyer

Well you can still manage it not that you won't watch your fav programmes on it, i still insist you can check their stores and ask or you can just keep it till you have cash to get the new one

Is it the files in the usb flash that is a not supported or the USB flash itself.

The content of the flash isn't showing at all, It just displays unsupported USB or so when I click on the the TV USB option. I really do not not know whether it's the the content or the flash itself. I have also tried connecting my phone, I clicked on the media transfer option on my my phone but the TV ain't seeing it at all.

Yes.. I got mine changed today for #3200 however if your sub is expired you will be made to renew making the cost #5100 which include the subscription cost you are on.

U don't need to use the RF at all. Also the gotenna should not be touched as that is what actually sends signal from the antenna to the decoder. If u want HD u don't need av, just plug an HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the decoder and then the other end on the HDMI port on ur TV and then select the HDMI input on ur TV. That's all. Now if u have a second tv u can still use the av input on ur decoder to connect to the second TV.

Yes. Thanks. I saw that the av could still remain plugged as long as I choose what mode/source I want using the tv remote. I could easily switch from HDMI to av and vice-versa.

Yes, it is needless, just connect your hdmi (transmits sound and video) to your tv, select the specific hdmi on your tv and you are good to go,

Well i think it should since all it needs is just a device to project what the decoder is playing you can try it then toggle the settings on your laptop
