The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Uche Secondus, has dragged the Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Lai Mohammed, to court for defamation of character.



A media aide to the PDP National Chairman, Ike Abonyi, revealed this in a statement on Friday.

Mr Mohammed had mentioned Mr Secondus in the list of those who allegedly looted the nation’s treasury, alleging that the PDP National Chairman collected received N200million from the former National Security Adviser (NSA).

In his reaction, Secondus had through his lawyer, Mr Emeka Etiaba, denied collecting any money from the former NSA.

He had consequently asked the minister to immediately retract his name on the list and demanded a public apology and payment of N1.5b damages within 48 hours.

Liar Mohammed included PDP Chairs name to play politics with it knowing how gullible and foolish some Nigerians are. He knows that some people believe anything whether it is a lie or not without thinking twice. So he used that as a propaganda tool to deceive the gullibles

Right move. This is an opportunity for those in opposition to finally hush the wave of character defamation by the APC. They are always in a hurry to tag people as looter(the word "looter" now have a different meaning in Nigeria as compared with the rest of the world ), even with no substantive evidence. Its over three year and they still have not been able to have any "looter" convicted, but keep disturbing us with who-loot-what. APC is now the accuser, the judge and executioner.

The PDP National chairman if he has no skeleton in his cupboard deserve the right to head to court in other to prove his innocence of the allegations.

It is incumbent on the federal Government to provide evidence of his Alleged looting.
The money being discussed here is the common patrimony of the Nigerian people and we the people must remain neutral and watch them expose themselves.

Nigeria is where it is today because of the actions and inactions of a few group of greedy and heart less elite who were fortunate to have access to political power.

I Expect everyone who's name was released to head to court, if they are totally Innocent.
