Dozen or so ke? You're mistaken Boss. We have only about 20 or so cable manufactureres nationwide and the bulk of them are located in the West.
Cutix , Geoelis, Scan and one other brand I cannot remember right now are the only cable manufactures in the east to the best of my knowledge. Most of the others you see Like CDivine and co are imported, even tho they are branded "Nigeria Wire" , they have no manufacturing plant here.

Market penetration of the eastern brands is not as high as it should be, Considering the small number of manufacturers relative to the large market there. Most sellers prefer to stock the cheaper imported brands that give them higher turnovers . For every coil of local brand sold, there's probably ten times more of the imported alternative sold.

You're very right about COLEMAN not being so popluar there, the eastern brands are still managing to gain grounds.

However, There are requirements for which COLEMAN is the only local option.
For instance COLEMAN is currently the only local brand that manufactures:
-RG - 5/6 Coaxial Cables (TV wire)
-CAT 5/6/6e Cables ,
-Marine Cables,
-And the first to manufacture XLPE high voltage cables in West Africa. (Currently not being done by any other company in Nigeria)
Plus a number of other speciality cables.

They are the largest Cable Manufactuter in West Africa both Volume & Variety wise.
