It is called a 'breach of agreement/contract' but l am sure if l aske you to contact ur Lawyer to press for compensation due to loss incured (current and future), you will probably laugh at me and say 'this is Nigeria, it cant work'. undecided undecided

Its all about CONTRACT : Dangote OFFERED to Sell, Chekitaut ACCEPTED to buy..... and a CONSIDERATION (money) was 'given and taken' to seal the Contract.

Any unilateral revocation
of such a binding contract, by any of the parties involved, is a violation of the contract and the affected party can sue for loss/damages and compensation.

Caveat: Unless the T & C of such contract (clause) expressly say they can do as alleged, and you signed-on to such clause.

But then, wetin l sabi sef.

thank u...it is nothing but breach of contract..and i can bet my balls on it that if the price had dropped the firm wont ve reimbursed him the difference...

Increase in prices cannot be applied retroactively so they cant ask him to pay the new price since he paid under the old price regime. Increase in prices ought to ve an effective date and regular customers ought to be informed..Under normal circumstances he will simply approach the consumer protection agency and the company will be called to order..it wont even happen in the first place..

The way and manner we do biz in Nigeria is sickening to say the least...we wont move an inch forward like this

Then i m forced to ask you..would the firm return any balance if there is a drop in selling price?....Prices re normally listed at selling rate and once payment is made deal is closed..what the man described was an increase in price after he made payment under the old price regime and then the firm calling him to inform about price increase after a week and subsquently asking him to pay the balance undecided

if it was a case of mistake in price list then it is understandable and the customer can be informed about the mistake..it is then the customer decision to pay the new price or simply ask for a refund.

Increase in prices ought to ve an effective date and should not be applied retroactively. in the case of making orders..the firm should inform their clients when the new price regime will come into effect.

If you ve the contract you can share it with us..but until then what the man described above can best be described as Bullshi.t and should not be done by any reputable firm

I don't have the contract, but you knew this, and neither do you.

I'm willing to wait and see the contract to see why a company that doesn't have any monopoly will act outside of the realm of a signed contract.

You have said it all.

Sheer ignorance on the part of our people and their unwillingness to enforce their rights, is what makes these companies to get away with blue murder!

Even in the justice system, you dont apply punishment retroactively (remembered this is what caused a lot of furore during the first Buhari/idiagbon military regime of 1983 when the death penalty was enacted for drug trafficking and some "already arrested persons" (arrested long before the enactment of the law) were to be executed and eventually executed (I think one ojuolape guy was among them).

We then have a consumer 'protection' agency that is in cahoots with these companies, taking kickbacks and putting the interest of the company far and above that of the consumer while the consumer at times, makes silly excuses on why they should just swallow the B/shyte. undecided angry

If this happened in the USA, are we going to be yapping about 'Contract', even if it is a single item bought at Wickes or will the company be paying compensation and getting bad reviews on all Radio & TV stations?

These firms are just criminal extortionists and nigeria is their play ground.

I am in the middle of decking so l am not smiling at all

2 weeks ago I finalised budget iron was 168k per tonne I ended up buying at 185k, granite increase and cement increase only iron swallow my 100k contingency now we are borrowing from the next phase.

Personally I think it's to do with increase in demand due to visits from diaspora people coupled with low production during the holidays.

Unfortunately for me it's during the holidays that I have time and there is no storage space.

I'm sold on it, I just have to find the right profile.

That's mostly what we have here and they make it onsite.

it should be possible..i just saw it on agen's webpage (see attached picture)...I think you can find a local maufacturer that can produce such.
