I am very disappointed with Nigeria team... how can a country of 180 million produce premature set of basketball player... they lost all the 3 groupstage match.. I watched all the 3 games with my hard earn 90 dollars I am the only Nigerian in a 5000 capacity stadium waving my flag. I was caught on Live tv and all the Aussie cheers. Can u guys imagine after the 3 games TEAM nigeria fail to wave towards me. But team Canada New Zealand and Australia did SAD SAD SAD Ikechukwu Diogu is the only Nigeria player that perform to standard, the rest are trash 4 Likes

Dude!! I am still upset! We are nothing but a bonus for Australians and The New Zealanders. It’s such a shame! I also bought a ticket to watch the female boxing and it was nothing but a disappointment. Imagine Nigeria bringing an 18 yo inexperienced boxer to fight a 33 yo Australian boxer with track records. Shittt I had the Nigerian flag in my pocket all through - what a shame. Only the table tennis team made us proud and earned us the first silver medal alongside Chukwuebuka who also earned us a silver medal in the men shot put. I would love to meet that dude!! Thank God our Para weight lifters earned us Gold and Silver in a row. You see those basket ball team need to be ashamed of themselves - bunch of losers. They are not good at all! All my kiwi friends have laughed me tire! They have the perfect physique but have zero skills. I personally know some street basket ballers in Nigeria that would easily defeat New Zealand. Go to Mile 2, pick stars and train them. Allowing these big for nothing to represent us is a national disgrace. I love Nigeria 6 Likes 1 Share |

@lalasticlala The Nigerian sporting federation need to start researching and recognising talents especially from low socioeconomic communities. Nigeria is a great country with super talented youths and I believe we could do extremely well in various sports. The ijaw youths, for instance, would do extremely well in water sports if handpicked and properly trained. God bless Nigeria 3 Likes |

 Dats wat happens wen a country doesn't care......how much are they even given in terms of incentives....wat facilities are in place for effective training....we 've even had cases of people personally sponsoring the national teams and u expect them to perform optimally.....anybody dat says they didn't try needs to get his/her brain checked 2 Likes

once the skin is white, even with physical strength, Nigeria can never prevail. I watch them play their first match against a team they had an advantage againt. in terms of height, body structure, I etc but still they lost a round at about 72 38..poor. That's what happen when politics takes over(even in sports), it's heartbreaking. I play volleyball and when I look at players at the national level, I weep for Nigeria. These are players who can't even stand close to ordinary state players in most northern states. They're all bark and no bite, they go to other African countries and are thrashed 3-0 straight on major count, with minor count under 15. Jesus Christ. It's disheartening. |

Players need to be blooded from a young age, say from 13 upwards.. They need to be camped, trained and get educated. If we want to do well, its a process and a project, not just picking anyhow players. 1 Like |
