Remember Lot's wife.

Jesus in a short verse in Luke 17:32 asked us to remember Lot’s wife.

This from my understanding is pointing to two directions — the backsliders and the disobedient. Lot’s wife after being saved because of her disobedience, was destroyed (Genesis 19:26). This is passing message across to those after been saved, becomes careless with their salvation and their end there of is destruction (2 Peter 2:20).

For the disobedient, just as Lots wife disobeyed the angel of the Lord warnings not to turn back and was destroyed (Genesis 19:17), so also all those who reject the gospel of salvation and disobey God warnings through His messengers and teachers will follow the path of Lot’s wife destruction where all will be thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 21:8 ).

To get a clear picture of vs.32 of Luke 17... you need to read vs.31, 32 and 33..

Lot's wife, as you said, received her first salvation when she was saved from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah by her initial obedience to the words of the angels who were sent to save her family. However, she refused to stand faithful until the end— she disobeyed the other commandments given to them by the same angels. She was turned into a pillar of salt, a punishment different from that which befell those who were left back in Sodom, but destruction nonetheless.

Jesus Christ called on those who would choose to become born-again to stand faithful until the end — Matthew 24 vs 12- 13 & Mark 13 vs 13 - or risk losing the totality of the salvation that is offered as Lot's wife did.

26 “When the Son of Man comes again, it will be the same as it was when Noah lived.
27 People were eating, drinking, and getting married even on the day when Noah entered the boat. Then the flood came and killed them all.
28 “It will be the same as during the time of Lot, when God destroyed Sodom. Those people were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, and building houses for themselves.
29 They were doing these things even on the day when Lot left town. Then fire and sulfur rained down from the sky and killed them all. 30 This is exactly how it will be when the Son of Man comes again.

Clearly, not all of those who are born-again will end up with the reward of Heaven(Eternal Reward) at the end of the day. Many will end up instead with Hell(Eternal Damnation) because of making the same mistake Lot's wife did.
