Could just be that football shows no discrimination, it's for old and young, or maybe football thinks about the kids too, or maybe it offers kids the chance to stand with their football heroes too.

One of the numerous reasons is for promotion. Promotion in the sense that it encourages youngsters to take part in the sport.

It means the game of soccer has a future...it won't stop now, it lasts forever. The children represent the future of the beautiful game.

I think in some cases those kids maybe battling a sickness or less privileged or orphans.Just the way celebrities go the hospitals to see sick kids.

Another point is, they could actually be normal kids.Imagnine as a child, you idolise a particular team or a particular player and there is an initiative in place that allows you to walk with him to the pitch.Look at it from a kids point on view and not an adult.

Just as when I take my kids to some kids event. We the adults look at ourselves in the face and we have the "we don't want to be here look" and the kids have the "we want to live here forvever look"

So walking the kids to the pitch is for the kids and you may not really find any reasonable reason for it but the kids love it.

My own question is why is football even played?... 22 grown up men running around the field kicking a round object. What's entertaining about that? It makes no meaning. It makes no sense.

its a collabo between FIFA and UNICEF to raise support for children in the spirit of fair play and to show that football influences children. sometimes, some of the kids are drafted from charity homes!

Those kids are upcoming footballers, the goal is to expose them to Crowd to build their confidence in front of large crowd of people . Is part of the training as future footballers

Much as I think that it was inspired by UNICEF, it also has other residual effects such as stimulating children's interest in the most beautiful game.

Children are known to symbolize love and gentility. Such is needed in the game. It shouldn't be a hostile activity.

i am a football lover and i have always asked for the reason footballers walk alongside kids to the line up during a football match.

i have also gotten answers ranging from the procedure being a FIFA culture to it being a fair play approach.

i still think there is more to it than the above. please football lovers lets give reason to this very popular but yet unexplained modus aparandi that governs the very sport that has united millions of people world over.

I'm also worried about the game. Yes, I love the game but I've been over thinking. What's the joy in seeing 37 other teams suffer and cry just for one to lift the trophy at the end of the season? Take a look at the world cup. 36 teams play, 35 cry and heart breaks and 1 wins. Why? What's the point of all these challenge? Do we gain or lose more from the beautiful game?
