Meanwhile, the Kaduna-Abuja rail line started by GEj is signed, sealed and delivered; the Lagos-Ibadan rail line is being constructed at the speed of light; the Abuja metroline started by GEJ is almost complete; a contract will soon be signed to deliver gas to Kano from Ajaokuta while Onitsha and Nnewi that are practically sitting on gas are bypassed; Kano, Kaduna and Abuja airports are being done up nicely for international operations; dry ports are being opened all over the North, and yet Ndigbo should jump for joy over a couple of concrete pillars that prove according to these Igbo haters that Buhari loves Ndigbo and is treating us fairly and on equal terms with others!

Jonathan made numerous promises to Ndigbo but we have come to know that his promises are forgotten the moment he is done reading his speech. Name them: dredging of the River Niger and completion of the Onitsha Inland port (the twain haphazardly executed and abandoned); the dualisation of the Enugu-Abakaliki highway, construction of a dry port in Aba and completion of the power plants in Alaoji and Egbema, to name just a few. Today, there is no power plant functioning in the entire southeast, the private effort by Prof. Barth Nnaji is being frustrated and the much celebrated international airport in Enugu is no better than a wretched domestic wing of an airport.

Gej did more for other regions (esp' the North), but guess what, if tomorrow Ndigbo are asked to choose between him and Buhari, most of us will overwhelmingly pick GEJ in a heartbeat! With the way the fortunes of AIIA Enugu were improving during GEJs tenure, i'm sure if he had won a second term in office the international gateway to the SE wouldn't be in the parlous state its in today! The new terminal there is also thanks to his gov't.

GEJ wasn't as firm as we would have wanted him to be, this was one of the reasons the issue with Prof Nnajis' power plant dragged on for as long as it did! Likewise the issues of Anambra oil producing status and the lingering unresolved boundary issues with Kogi and Enugu, etc.

You have reduced the way a gov't is perceived by a people (whether favourably or unfavourably) to material things......naira and kobo, and this is why you wonder why Ndigbo still can't stand that man Buhari. Of course the fact many like me think he's only starting to give the SE attention at this 11th hour due to the upcoming presidential elections is a matter for another day.

You think it's acceptable that one of the tripods on which Nigeria stands is completely left out of heading all military, paramilitary and security outfits in the country? You think it's ok to declare that since a region gave you only 5% votes, that you'll treat them differently from those that gave you 97%? A wise president would have used the first opportunity to try and win them over (like GEJ tried to do in the North) not antagonise them further and make them realise they're misgivings about you were right all along!
